Last two weeks until harvest, LIGHT HEIGHT?? -1000 watts help please

I have my light about 3 feet from the tops on average. but some buds are farther away and lowering them will give stronger light?? Is this true ? or should i keep them as is..

Also.. I ask this because I've seen buddies keep their 1k a foot away from their tops!?

1k should be plenty of light. you can use cfls for side lighting

As long as it covers the needed area, I'd put it as close as possible without burning the plants

yea they have a week or two and I think I'm gonna get them down a little closer
