I have heard nothing but BAD things about Chantix. The side effects are dangerous. For one, it mixes badly with alcohol, and medications. There have been many instances of somnambulism (sleepwalking) and driving while asleep. Oops. Erratic behaviour and nightmares are common complaints. In my town, a couple on Chantix said they had nightmares. One night they went out for drinks and came home, went to sleep. At some point the guy had a sudden personality shift and became violent with his girlfriend. She claims that it had never happened before, and she made him leave. He became angry and confused and somehow ended up pounding on a NIEGHBORS door in the middle of night, thinking it was his girlfriends' place. The neighbor is armed with a gun, and on the phone with 911. His wife crying, as an unknown man is screaming nonsense and trying to break the door down in a rage. He fires a warning shot- through the door, about 6 feet high. Well, the guy outside was pretty tall and he died instantly. It was a tragedy, he was a very talented musician, some say about to make it big. His girlfrlend claims he was never a violent type, and his friends and family all agree that it was the Chantix, mixed with alcohol, that caused his erratic behavior. They say he wouldn't react that way to a few drinks. Some people say that he must've thought he was dreaming, or in a nightmare and couldn't wake up. No charges were filed on the neighbor, as he was within the laws around here.
Anyway, I encourage anyone to quit smoking cigarettes for good. But read up on that Chantix stuff... I think that and some sleeping meds and antidepressants cause a lot more car wrecks and other accidents in America.

i'm pretty sure it was the dumbass neighbor who killed him, not the chantix. you don't fire a warning shot thru the door. and i'm on chantix so don't argue with me, or else .................. :fire:

well, I never did quit smoking with the chantix :( ... but decided the other day that I'm done with them. I'm 25, been smoking since 11, and am at 2packs a day; at this rate, I'm cancer material soon if not already. So I decided to just cold turkey it, and my wife bought me the patches. On day 3 so far and doing great... think its gonna stick this time. :)

I'm just switching to the electronic ones, lmao...

Gonna be all futuristic... mannnnnn.

Next up, electronic joints!

I need to see if there's a patent for that yet... :D
I myself am totally irrelevent to this thread, good luck quitting go grow.

but aren't electronic ciggs nothing but vaporized water?

edit: nvm, some of them do have inhaled doses of nicotine, some are just water. buy carefully.

I quit on new years, first resolution I ever followed through with. I just got stoned and played video games to stay occupied.

Aye... I'm thinking the Blu kind are top of the line, but I will have to look into them more carefully.

Apparently, they're a lot safer than normal cigarettes, and that is good news to me!

yeah they are but nicotine is still hella bad for you . . . .. stiffens veins in the heart, raises blood pressure, etc.

Good on all you guys quitting...It's hard as all hell. I tried SO MANY times... It's been a year and two months for me, but I had a heart attack as motivation this time...I don't recommend my method.

Having said that, if I can do it....anyone can.

I have a blu e-cig and a couple buddies of mine have flux e-cigs (made by the same company and parts are interchangable). You can choose your flavor and nicotine strength, but there are no bad chemicals other than that. I mainly got it because you can still use them in bars, restaurants, and anywhere with a smoking ban. Also, they don't make you stink or make your breath stink like cigarettes will. A friend of mine that failed with chantix got one and it actually helped him quit. He started with the high strength nicotine and worked his way down to the lowest strength, eventually quitting.

You can do it although it's pretty darned tough for a toker.

The worst thing is that every time you blaze up, you're gonna want a cig real bad.

But that too shall pass, good luck.

I can get around that.... just roll another, or pack another bowl :) the real testing times are after meals, taking a poop, having coffee, etc.

... I usulay have one burning even when I'm smokeing a joint.
HA! I thought I was the only one!

Cheers to all you folks for quitting! It's like losing a limb for christ sake. Hence, why I'm still smoking. The plan is in the works though.

Best of luck to all of you. Stay strong my friends. Tobacky is not your friend.

i'm coming up on 2 years and feeling great. ;)
so do you feel as different/good as all the propaganda says you should after just two years?? I've been curious about that. I have noticed that I'm coughing up some nasty shit (well, worse than normal) already.
