lamp positioning

I have 125w CFL lamp and don't know how far from the lamp I should position my young little seedling [6 days old; 6cm tall] I need help only from people who are engaged in growing cannabis;experience individuals!i have already received answer like this:''2 inches from the lamp".WRONG!first time when I tried this I have burned them!!So if anybody knows who used or is using CFL lamps please let me know.Grateful in advance!!!

Do you have a fan blowing on them? If so 6" should be fine for now, as the plant matures you can get the light closer, but a fan is a must.
Seedlings don't need much light untill they get a few sets of leaves. and can't take much heat.

i whould agree with 6 inches i had the same problem just 3 weeks ago and burnt my leaves

i had 6 42 watt cfl's on my baby since the time she was still under ground. never more than 2-3" and she's been growing phenomenally.
