Both are reasonable, the top one falls too short of what you need, the samsung one is still a bit under powered been 400w.

You want to be aiming 480w - 560w really in a 1.2x1.2m

So you'd recommend I go up to this bad boy?

Or is it essential I spend the extra on this, which also means I'm only saving 1.8kw a day and should just stick with hps in that case

No , I did have a look on their site to see what else they offered , hoping for a more powerful version of the Samsung light.

Though that light is higher wattage its not as efficient as the Samsung. If I had to pick I would go with 400w of Samsung over 450w of citizen 1212 cobs and I would run the light closer or maybe work to slightly less than full canopy in the 1.2x1.2m.

They are good prices and are probably drop shipping from china for the price they are, you might be able to find something better going direct.

If I were in NZ I would be looking at aussie grow lights but they are going to cost you more money since nobody can compete with Chinese prices.

Had a look at the product video. Two 240 meanwell drivers on top. Wonder what those china boards mounted below can take as max?

Edit. The mapping at end of video shows good numbers. Do you think they upped the driver current for video. Or is the product page loose on accuracy regards 400w.
