Kushtothehead's Bubba Kush and Green Crack Grow Journal 2013

I will be growing bag seeds that I was told were Bubba Kush and Green Crack
Both strains appear to be strongly indica dominant
Currently vegging indoors in rubbermaid tubs with plans to transplant outside in June
First Green Crack seed started January 13th. 24 Green Crack seeds started February 13th. 16 Bubba Kush seeds started February 20th
I am growing soilless in one gallon pots. My mix is 1/3 Schultz Seed Starter Plus (sphagnum peat moss, vermiculite, perlite), 1/3 CIL Plus potting soil (sphagnum peat moss, black humus, perlite, mycorrhizae), 1/3 Perlite
Each grow tub has 6 23w 6500k cfls and 2 24" T5 fluorescent tubes (one on each side of the tub midway up). The tubs are covered with mylar.
Ventilation is provided by a 176 cfm Typhoon 4" inline duct fan on the intake. The exhaust is passive. Temperatures fluctuate between 67 and 92F (I have a National Geographic dual-zone max/min digital thermometer)
I water about every second day. My medium dries very quickly. I use distilled water. I have a pH pen which I use religiously. pH fluctuates from 6.2-6.9
I use the complete line of DNF nutrients. Here is the link to their feeding schedule http://www.hydroponics.com/nutrient/images/nutrient feed schedule.pdf
I also use Tarantula Liquid Microbial

This is my fifth grow (I have grown twice outdoors and twice indoors before), however I still have lots to learn and all feedback is GREATLY appreciated. Let me know what you think!

ps. I take a stupid number of photos...

My oldest plant (green crack 7 weeks from seed) is responding well to the dilute 20% nutrient solution i fed her. I transplanted her yesterday to a 1 gallon pot and fertilized. Overnight she grew into the light. There are some minor burns on her top fan leaves from the bulbs but the shoots are fine. I stacked another rubbermaid for a total cab height of 3 feet. The green crack seedlings are also on a 12% feed. Third leafsets are maturing as the fourth leafsets begin to grow. I will feed straight water until next friday when I plan to double my nute strength. The three bubba kush seedlings are green and their first leafsets are open and tiny second leafsets are visible.

Again let me know what you think of my setup.

Stay medicated:leaf:

I didn't have enough space in the rubbermaids to transplant so I decided to rebuild the cabinet from my grow last year. It has 17 23-26 watt cfls in 6500 and 5000k. It is cooled by one 176cfm typhoon inline duct fan on the exhaust. It is 19 inches deep 46 inches wide and 47 inches tall. It will hold 24 one gallon pots. So i finally got my ladies out of the cups and into the pots they will stay in until I sex (there will be more space once I weed out the males).

There is some yellowing on the lower leaves of some of my Green Crack plants. I didn't feed friday like I had planned because i wanted to watch those leaves and see if they got better or worse with straight water. They have gotten worse so I am pretty sure it is a nitrogen deficiency. I'll post some pics I could definitely use a second opinion. Otherwise I plan to feed a 40% solution of Dnf Grow and Veg fortifier tomorrow. Let me know what you guys think

About to feed... anyone? My thoughts are since the leaf tips aren't burnt its not over fert (I fed 20% I'm just paranoid). Any other problem should be fixed by a feeding. My Ph has been steady at 6.5 so it shouldn't be lockout.

I really don't have much to say. I'm subscribed and watching though. nice start so far. I'd go ahead and do a light feeding..

anyways do you want the responses in this thread or in your discussion page link? cause i can move my post, the above post, and any other future posts there. I'd just ixnay the discussion thread though

Also, lower on the plant, there is a node with two branches and fan leaves opposite each other, and an extra third branch in betweenIMG952.jpg

My oldest plant turned 2 months from seed yesterday. It is a Green Crack that i fimmed on february 24th. At 10 inches tall it already has 14 branches. I removed some of the larger fan leaves to allow light to the lower growth.

All of my other Green Crack plants are now one month from seed. 4-9 inches tall with 4-7 leafsets. I plan to fim them all soon. My 3 Bubba Kush are 3 weeks from seed and about 4 inches/nodes tall. One plant is growing very oddly (see above post). I also have a BK seed that sprouted at the same time and did very little until just recently but now is starting to grow, showing its second leafset. The Bubba Kush plants are the three front left in the cabinet below.

I fed everyone on tuesday 50% DNF Grow A/B, DNF Green, DNF Veg Fortifier, 20% Grotek Cal-Max calcium magnesium and iron, as well as Advanced Nutrients Tarantula Liquid Microbial. I also foliar sprayed DNF Enhance last night. Chlorosis seems to have stopped and there is no sign of burnt leaf tips. I do however have some light burns from nutes on my leaves when i watered. I have to be a little more careful.

Thanks for stopping by. I really don't mind people giving feedback here (as long as it's on topic lol). I'm not looking for any radical suggestions just nudges in the right direction. My previous grows have had many problems/ learning experiences (spider mites, thrips, nutrient deficiencies, pH problems, dust leaks in flower, mold) but this is the first time i have had the whole RIU community looking after me. Hopefully with all your help things will be better this time around.

Sorry guys my computer died so I haven't been able to post in a month and a half. A lot has happened since my last update. I had to get rid of my Rubbermaid setup because they installed new windows in my apartment and it was posing a security risk. I gave it to a friend along with my oldest plant and four other green crack. I now have 20 green crack (3 1\2 months old) and 4 bubba kush (3 months old) in my cabinet under 16 hours of light.IMG964.jpgIMG965.jpgIMG966.jpg On march 18th I fimmed all plants. I installed drip emitters and a 15L reservoir on march 20th and I have been watering with it ever since.IMG967.jpgIMG968.jpgIMG971.jpgIMG972.jpgIMG975.jpgIMG977.jpgIMG978.jpgIMG979.jpgIMG980.jpgIMG981.jpgIMG982.jpgIMG983.jpgIMG984.jpgIMG985.jpgIMG986.jpgIMG987.jpg I have been feeding DNF grow, veg fortifier, green, black, gold, as well as Grotek Cal-Max at 50% the recommended strength weekly. I also foliar spray DNF Enhance at 100% recommended. I am seeing deficiencies in many of my smaller plants. IMG1014.jpgIMG1015.jpgIMG1016.jpgIMG1017.jpgIMG1018.jpgIMG1019.jpgIMG1027.jpgIMG1028.jpgIMG1029.jpgIMG1030.jpgIMG1031.jpgIMG1032.jpgIMG1033.jpgIMG1034.jpgIMG1035.jpgIMG1036.jpg On April 1st I increased feeding to 75% DNF Grow, Veg fortifier, green, black, gold, clear and 100% Cal-Max, and gave a supplement of AN Tarantula. The deficiencies have not cleared up. They seem to be worsening. If anyone has any idea why my plants are looking a bit sickly please let me know. Temps range from 65-78 F. pH 6.4-6.6
