hello everyone. This is my first time seriously trying to grow my medicine. I have tried previous years back and failed, although i was using shop lights.
For this grow, I converted a 2x4x8 closet. drilling a 6 inch hole in the ceiling for exhaust and a 6 inch hole on the floor for passive intake.
I have a 400 cfm fan pulling through a carbon scrubber.( Although I am 100% legal, I still like to be stealth). Which pushes through my 6 inch air cooled hood up to the attic.
As for my lighting, well i was talked into a 1k switchable MH/HPS ballast. So i bought that, but i am currently vegging under 400w MH about 15-20 inches from the plants. absolutely no heat with this set up at all, my grow room seems to run about 3-4 degree's warmer than the air it's pulling in. I can run the 1k light with my air on at 74 and have no heat issues. With the 400 i dont have to cool the intake room at all. The exhaust just destroys any heat through my hood.
I am using FF ocean for transplants, but not all the closes are ready yet. for strains I have:
Blue Dream
White Widow
headband
Purple OG
White Rhino
Purple Nepal
I am planning on making two mommy's one for Blue Dream and one for Widow. The rest will be flowered. I am using another closet to house the mommys and clones in. Any thoughts on my set-up or any problems you may see? is 1k HPS okay? I was told the more light the better for better bud. All comments are okay. thanks for looking.
