Hey I wanted to shout out and give the Rev some love. Here is a Black Poison Skunk that I grew in a multi strain run. Dried manicured buds weighed in at 213 grams! Yes 213 grams of Organic tasty buds from this 1 plant.
How does it smoke? He describes it as smelling like skunk spray. I picked up his Hemmy Black last year but haven't run it yet.

Smoke is still early as it's only been in the jar a couple days and will improve both taste and potency wise. With that said the preliminary report is it's alright. Not skull smashing, no couch lock, no raciness, no motivation, there seems to be a lot of no with this one. The best I can describe is sativa without any race but also without the motivation provocation. I can however work all day smoking this it doesn't make me stupid or lazy I feel it about equal head and body. In the body I don't feel any weirdness, I just feel the snug hug type body buzz. Taste is a little sweet and fruity but that gets over powered by the garlic/onion funk. She tastes good making it hard to keep from going back for more.

Length of buzz doesn't seem anymore than any other strain I've sampled lately. I smoke about every hour so pretty standard there, (Or maybe I just smoke to much...)

I've grown other BPS plants that put me to sleep and were more affy in the buzz. I didn't care for those because at 53 I don't need help being lazy or falling asleep. LOL getting old fucking sucks!

The smell of this girl is kinda sweet and fruity, but touch the buds or the stem and it has this wild crazy garlic/onion-ish funk. Sorry that is the best description I've been able to come up with since last summer. I grew out others that did have skunk-ish (Not Road Kill) type smells and others that just had the garlic/onion funk. This girl is the only sweet one I had out of 5 females.

Not this girl but I have had occasion to stress this strain without producing nanners. Something that I do want to share with anyone considering this strain is that APHIDS LOVE THIS STRAIN!! I lost TWO runs of these monsters to aphids last summer. I used every organic, folk medicine and hoodoo witch doctor type option I could find or conceive but in the end I had to chop and fog with pyrethrins do a total clear out and wash down of all equipment and space. With that said if my experience counts for anything only grow this indoor after a good hard frost because it calls the Aphids to it. The BPS would be infested with scores of them eating em alive and other strains would have an aphid or 3 or even none at all.

My parting shot and thoughts on this girl are I'm pretty sure in my 4x8 no till tent I can easily get two pounds plus, every run with her of nice large nugs that will bug out the eye. Currently I have a Shoreline Sour D male that I'm going to put to her. I also just popped some F2's I made with 3 BPS males on 2 other BPS females I called Skunk and Funk. Hoping to find a nice male to bring back to my girl.

Any other questions ask away and I'll answer the best I can.

Thanks for the great info! Let me know how the F2s turn out.. I need to start digging through mine

Here is another clone of my BPS starting in a new run. Behind her is a C99 fem clone who's seed came from Duke Diamond's vault. The c99 dwarfed her 4/1 when they went in a week ago. Next week they will be close to the same size maybe 1.25/1. two weeks into flower and you won't even see Cindy she will have been pushed out so to speak. The BPS is a beast with amazing growth in the stretch. The one above grew like 4/1 she was toped around 14" flowered at about 20-22 in. That big cola that is horizontal about half way up on far left was close to 5 feet at the tip to the dirt. That is a lower side branch which decided it wanted to be the big deal. She is a true medusa head type sativa dom girl.

Here is a clone of bps that I have in a 7gal pot. Shes 3 full weeks into flower and 7 or 8 weeks from rooted clone. Brought her up today to spot chuck her with stored shoreline sourD pollen on a few buds with the goal of trying to get 100 seeds +/-20200430_073745.jpg20200430_073415.jpg

Also good time to clean up her bottom since I haven't done it yet.

Thought I would come in with an update. This particular BPS leans very Sativa and has become my daily smoke. With a proper cure she smokes nice and smooth though you can always feel that little sinister something on the tail end of a puff. Though the herb isn't fuel that tail has the same feel as when you smoke fuel. Anyway horrible description but it's all I got.

This plant (unlike her sisters that I grew out last year) doesn't sedate you it kick starts your motivation without anxiety. It is also one hell of a appetite suppressant and I've lost a few pounds since this became daily flavor. Munchies on this smoke is pretty rare and sitting down is hard unless you are deep into the day. I haven't found a ceiling yet but I have crossed the threshold of dozy stupor many evenings. Not sure if its the BPS alone or the combo of it and the 4 or 5 beers I put away in the evening but many times I will smoke myself into a chair with droopy eyes by evenings end.

I also like mixing her with other things. I'll mix 2/3 her and a 1/3 of something else into a blend and some of those are real nice. I often mix her with Chem and C99. The chem helps slow me down just a bit and helps magnify the sense of well being I get from BPS. The Chem also seems to help the body a bit more. The Cindy adds more of a foggy boom boom to the head and is a great addition for when you have to do mindless shit that you don't like doing like painting the house or mowing the grass. Cindy is super good for that shit but the BPS will get you through it on her own too she just doesn't have the foggy head stone. BPS is more clear headed and if I don't over indulge I just get busy and honestly kinda forget I'm high and just work at whatever I'm doing.

Thinking isn't hard and I'm motivated to get things done so it just kinda takes over and drives me along. I like her so much that I mix her to alter her over all effect as apposed to just smoking something else. I also believe by combining two different types of bud you are creating a new and unique entourage effect. Chemical compounds: terpenes and cannabinoids from both mixing together in new ways to create something that maybe you can't get any other way. If you are not doing it already try mixing some of your faves together and see what you get. I've been doing it a long time and have turned a lot of people onto the idea of consciously choosing things to mix for effect.

I am finding that this (And possibly most cannabis) doesn't effect me the same as it does other people. I have only shared BPS with a couple people: the first is a guy that it doesn't matter what he smokes he's ready to go out and put 30-40 miles on his bike (bicycle), another says it knocks her out and she is is using it as a sleep aid. So who knows but for me it is an excellent wake and bake and on through the day she will keep me motivated. It's unbelievable all the shit I've gotten done this summer.

On the flip side I am currently growing out AKBB's Dope Beard Durban and will throw the BPS in the tent with them when I make seed. I will also do the same thing when I grow out Swammy's Vietnam Bomb. The plan is to bring more durban and vietnam black back into the BPS so I'm making seeds both ways and then will hunt those and breed both crosses to each other and then hunt for males to bring back to mom and start the back-cross process of trying to bring her forward in a new and improved 2.0 version. Anyway you guys know how that goes and I only claim to be an enthusiast/hobbyist so we'll hope for the best. It'll take time but I'll keep plugging away at it.

BPS produces Huge and is my go-to fave. Thanks again Rev!

These were harvested about 4 weeks ago. They are a bit on the thin side and I think this is a result of super high summer temps in my basement. They look half the size they do when I grow it in the cooler months but I wanted to give a little something to look at.20200808_074657.jpg20200808_074712.jpg20200808_074722.jpg

***UPDATE I'd like to update some info. I have been much more careful this summer about hitch hikers and bringing stuff into my grow. I have had Zero bug problems this year (summer of 2020). The heat has been ungodly but no bugs indoors on my girls. Also I've run her pretty steady since last fall after getting my bugs cleared out and haven't been disappointed yet. She is a very good performer if a bit unruly. As to the thought of bringing back a BPS f2 male - I'm almost out of those f2's and haven't found a suitable male so have shifted gears to another project idea for my chosen BPS. I get into that a bit in another post.

Okay as eluded to in my last post on the this thread. (Thanks to all 7 of you who read it!!) Now BPS is still available and I thought about buying more and finding a male but why buy a male for very hybridized cut? I had grown out a couple chocolate Thais from drawoh's line. I think these were f4's but can't remember. I got them from Swami a while back.

so anyway I grew a couple out and really liked what I saw. The male was very nice and super healthy. I really liked the structure of the male and the female's structure was spot on! Her structure was solid and tight. her canopy was like the slight convex arc like on a toadstool. just the slightest downward arc at the edges with a 11" dick sticking out the center. No pinching, pruning or topping required just strip the bottom half and let her rip!

So back to the male... He's big with good strong branching and an amazing smell. This dude is definitely a "Green" pheno. He has a funky almost sweet almost tropical almost garlic rolled into one. Rubbing finger's together after a stem rub gives you a very sweet juicy-fruit funk. Seriously funky and different than most anything else. well except my BPS. They are very similar in the kinda garlic kinda sweet, tropical area. Where he leans more to to the juicy fruit kinda pineapple sorta smell she leans to faint garlic sweet citrus (Not just orange and thank god no orange flavor) and so very pleasant.

So yes I did the deed Here are a few pics of my breeders. one of the BPS clone and two pics of the male (choc thai) in very early flower. I have to let the seeds cure yet but I will be running some of these this winter and am very excited by the prospects.20200924_152743.jpg20200930_154739.jpg20200930_155133.jpg

So a little update. I grew out some of the seeds from the BPS x Thai. I had some problems that I'm not sure about. They yellowed about 3 weeks into flower. Looked like it was an N deficiency so I fed for that but it never greened them up. I tried everything I know and they never responded so not sure. Must have killed the soil biology or really blew the ph or something to cause lock-out. I nursed em along for 9 weeks and gave em the chop - been in the jars for 11 days now. The smell on some of them is way different than the breeders. I had two with a distinct cream soda smell that was very pleasing. When I open the jars it smells similar to strawberry. I'll revisit these seeds at some point down the road but have other projects I'm working on for now so they have to wait. Well for now that's what I've got for now.

Grew some Pakistani chocolate Thai that did this very thing. Yellowed out and couldn’t bring it out of it for nothing. Ended up just chopping it since had multiple strains going and was really overcrowded anyway

I've changed my growing style a bit. I started reading the SIPs thread and tried that out. HOLY SHIT! Green vibrant plants that are super hard to contain because of the health and vigor. I tried it out with Blue Orcha Haze topped & bent to a manifold type bush and they grew nice fat frosty spears. Check out the thread and see if it's something you want to try/apply to your gardening. I'm sold!

I'm glad you like the strain, cause I have some of the Red Russian Skunk beans coming my way! It will be for outdoors this summer.

Ended up with 3 males. I did collect the pollen and pollenated several plants. Got 35 of those Red Russian Skunk seeds left, though!
I have a couple packs myself is the reason I was curious lol... I may pop a few after this current harvest is cleaned up.

That was under a 600w Hortilux super HPS. I've come to understand something about this girl since the original post. In a 10 gal pot she will produce like about every other plant in the room. In this grow she was in 25 gallon with fairly hot soil and went nuts everytime I grow her like that she puts on great bulk but in a 7-10 gal she does about 3 oz

* Just added 2 pics below. I will be taking this in another week and she is in a 10 gal this time so when I have a finished weight I will post it.
