whats the cheapest way to fix nitrogen back into the soil? answer: green manures. alfalfa and crimson clover to plant in the fall. after harvest, will plant these seeds in the smart pots. they fix nitrogen from the air and then you weed eat and turn it back into the soil. giving you almost free nitrogen. that means less chicken, blood, feather that needs to be purchased. oh and some comfrey too!!

buckwheat is a good one too....i cover my gardens with greenery......bro, you should be juicing that stuff!...the ganja....not the alfalfa...

ya your right ive just never done it. ill have to look @ ur tutorial

its really about which green manure can produce the most nitrogen

Nice! I've been wondering how you big container guys get ready for the next season...from what I'm seeing those huge pots are about the equivalent of a gigantic raised bed, right? what exactly goes into getting those ready for the next season...
 
nice, I do crimson clover, alfalfa and Oats as my cover crop in my outdoor garden. Great soil conditioners.

i havent actually done this in smart pots but figured id give it a try since all these pots take up so much square footage. i should be able to get a few #'s of free nitrogen. yes these containers are like raised beds.

Yes they would only allow two grams per patient, good thing my girlfriend came.

I got 2 grams of Space Bomb, and 2 grams of Deep Purple will post picks when I get home, right now we're stopping at the Lagunita's brewery in Petaluma :)
