Key Lime Chem journal

I can't stop looking at those fat frosty buds. I might just try some of that................or maybe after the smoke report.

Here's the dried and trimmed flower from A12 pheno. Spent 14 days in the drying tent at avg 63° and 60% rh. Spent a couple hours last night in trim jail! Need to pick up my trim pace...

Smoke report:

Aroma is chemdawg with citrus notes. Slight berry, but that's muted. Taste is mild with those same attributes coming through nicely on the fresh hits.

This is a bit of a creeper. No head rush or strong impacts immediately after smoking. After 5 minutes, some nice relaxation sets in and after 20 I'm floating. I usually only get that way when a strain hits me quickly.

I have been really slacking with mom maintenance. Two A7 and one A12 mom's in 1 gallon fabric pots. The soil is spent. Going to trim them down a bunch. After they recover I will cut the root ball back a couple inches and repot with fresh Stonington. IMG_20220122_120136.jpg

Unfortunately, nothing crazy. Both phenos that I kept have a little purple ooze when cut, but nothing that screams out at me to classify as a blood pheno.
Bummer. I have grown out blood phenos twice both from Strayfox. Glad you grew this out and killed it . I have had my eye on Second Generations gear and this was a top 3 prospect. Einstein's pipe and Shortbread were the others.

During my initial 1 gallon run, all 7 of them ended up seeded. I've been keeping and storing the seeds from each of those plants and will run them all at some point. Maybe end up with a blood pheno cut from that. Not sure if it was pollen from the male before culling or a nanner throwing it out. No nanners on the full scale run though, so who knows.

After 6 days in the 3x3 tent, the space is no longer holding rh. Three humidity dropped from avg of 60% for the prior week to 50% over the past 24 hours. The 2x2 tent is currently housing my clones which are a few days away from popping roots.

Rather than increase the humidity of the 3x3 space with a humidifier (which I don't own yet), I decided to break the whole plant down into smaller branches and layered them into a 25 gallon tote lined with an opened brown paper bag on the bottom and one laying over the top.

The tote has worked really well. Basically managed like a large mason jar. The drying environment has averaged 59.5% rh and 62° for the past 11 days. Will probably start trimming tomorrow night!

I took several clones from the key lime chem #12 Mom back on 8/26. Had a little leaf damage on a few, but nothing a little veg time won't resolve. Potted 6 of the plants up into 1 gallon pots filled with Coast of Maine Stonington on 9/6.

I'll veg these for a couple of weeks, then pick the best 4 to pot up into 7 gallon pots. I'm hoping that having the single pheno in the tent will help me dial in the needs and get the most out of this cut. Learn from the mistakes of last time and I should be harvesting in the new year.
