Keeping up on breeders

How do you all keep up on different breeders? New names seem to emerge almost daily. Where do you find these guys at and what gives you the confidence to run their gear? I always have a daunting feeling I'm missing out or not in the right loop.

If I asked who's your favorite breeders are I'm sure I would get a bunch of responses of people I've never messed with or even know about.

I typically follow the genetics i like. Then i figure out who’s working with it. Then i sort the clowns from the real ones. Then i go look at how things turn out for the average grower.

I'm not big on the social media. Insta seems like a bunch of stolen pictures most the time for real.

I research a couple different forums for breeders, and only buy from reputable sites that come highly recommended from others. I mostly follow old school breeders that have been around for a while, and strains that have been too. I also listen to interviews of the breeders, and like to support those that have a breeding philosophy that I like. An example would be Bob Hemphill from crickets and cicada seeds. I’m buying from him next, because I like that he focuses on stuff I like - strong indicas. Subcool, for example, really liked to focus on terps and flavors. Gooeybreeder really likes sativas and landrace stuff, and doesn’t like using other people’s work. He wants to be original/individual. Lucky Dog works the chem lines. Katsu has arguably “the best sour diesel male ever found“ and does a lot of stuff with Bubba Kush lines. Every breeder has a different vision of what they are trying to do and what they like. Find those that you like and identify with, and support their stuff.

From genetics i like to word of mouth from a few i trust who share similiar tastes in cannabis also and do a bit of research read up all u can that is how i select seeds/breeders etc you know what you like so follow that obviously if they got a bad rep avoid em or find out at your own risk
