keep your kidneys/liver healthy

Years ago I read a paper about the ancient Chinese, Indian and Tibetans' use of medical cannabis. Does anyone remember that Rosetta mail order place in Berkeley? Anyway, one of the things I recall from that paper, these ancestors believed that long term, heavy cannabis use could lead to eventual lung and liver issues, possibly even cancer. Lately I've been experiencing pain in the organs around my lower back area. I can tell it's not just from food toxins and the occasional beer. The daily smoking of cannabis concentrates such as shatter and budder does seem to be a contributing factor.

Every time I woke up that whole area was sore, and there was a sharper pain behind my right lower back when I moved or stretched in certain positions. So I figured this was not looking good. Either benign fatty tumors (lipomas) were starting to take over my liver, or maybe I had cancer. I bought some 2-week "Liver Cleanse" capsules from the health food market and started taking those last week. It seemed to help a little.

Then the other day I was talking to my aunt, and she mentioned something about my cousin having to be careful what he drinks now or his kidneys hurt. He recently had to stop smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol due to his heart operating at 25% capacity, he almost died. "Bingo, maybe it's not my liver, but my kidneys that are sore", I thought.

So I went back to the market and got some kidney supplements. Literally within a few days the aching is 75% gone and there is no sharp pain when I move. I must have built up quite a bit of toxins in my kidneys, and this gravelroot stuff works. Specifically, the product is called "Kidney Factors" by Michael's Naturopathic Programs. Solaray also has a kidney supplement with Corn Silk as the main ingredient, but the Kidney Factors has vitamins and aminos in addition to herbs, so I thought it might be better.

I have zero affiliation to this or any other herbal supplement company, just wanted to pass along this info in case fellow medical cannabis users were experiencing the same problem. That said, they do have a bunch of other "Factors of Life" products, and I plan to try more of them for sure.

I think my kidney was the main culprit, but the liver supplement I'm taking is "Complete Liver Cleanse" by Enzymatic Therapy, also obtained at Sprouts market. Happy and healthy medicating!
