Thanks LAX, that helps w/perspective. :D I'm already loving the BH! Tight node spacing, lots of secondary growth from tying it down, and it's been stinking (in a GOOD way!) since they were about three weeks old. Needless to say, I'm very glad I got my ozone generator last May; that sucker removes any and all odors within a moment or two of running it!

Didn't you flip to 12/12 at three weeks from seed? I was going to veg till the LST had my plants all the way around my 10" diameter pots, but I absolutely can't stand using brick anymore!!! :cuss: I need to harvest ASAP, and worry about more yield after that!

Instead of retyping my dilemma, it's easier to just quote a post I made this morning in a SCROG grow journal. I don't know.... what do you think, LAX?

My plants are six weeks (from seed). I started LST about a week and a half ago, which caused an awesome explosion of growth! I've pondered SCROG many times the past six months, but hadn't seen instructions that included photos. Seeing your threads (this and the "pics 6 weeks flower update" one) revived my interest in this. You indeed deserve some rep! :hump:

I'm a CA MMJ patient, and need to maximize my six mature plant limit. I was going to get another (and better) set of lights to have separate veg & flower areas last month, but my bank robbed me! (Quite corrupt, yet somehow legal, use of loopholes is the long and short of it.) So now I'm stuck with growing all six at once instead of the perpetual cycle I'd planned, for the next couple of months at least. I'm thrilled with the results from the LST so soon, and adding in SCROG should work wonders for increasing my yield without having to veg quite as long.... I'm also stuck with the most horrid brick one could imagine till I've got a harvest, and I'm tired of literally gagging from it, much less not getting nearly enough pain relief!

I got to the point the other day of contemplating flipping to 12/12 now, so that I can have something instead of waiting so long and continuing with the brick. But the thought of a puny harvest after all the work and planning I've done still held me back. I read and reread countless SCROG posts/threads last night. Most said to start with the screen right after flipping to 12/12, whereas some said to start while vegging like you did. I know that starting during veg would increase yield that much more, but I just can't keep treating my pain with brick. So I'm really thinking now about getting some chicken wire and wood or PVC (whatever is cheapest and easiest to work with for framing) and flipping the lights, working with the branches the LST encouraged to grow.

If I do this, then my two one-week-old seedlings would have to go 12/12 as well, as I don't have separate areas for veg & bloom yet. (I've really gotta call the bank and thank them again!) But the four six-week-old ones are 4.5"-5" tall (completely tied over), and they range from eight branches (the slowest growing one, which didn't have any secondary growth at all till I tied it down) to eighteen that I could count (there are more, I just gave up LOL).

Would you agree that doing SCROG will increase what little yield I'd have as they are now? I can't imagine why it wouldn't.

Just as an aside, when I do start SCROG (be it this grow or a future one), I'll be making six separate screens/frames, so that I'll be able to add a new plant as soon as one is harvested; I'm still aiming for perpetual ASAP! :hump: I've got 2'x4' for six plants, so there won't be a room issue doing it this way. ;)

OH, and I do still have my AeroGarden with which I started growing MJ in February, and I've got cuttings (the tops) from each of my four vegging plants in there now. So I guess I do have a "separate" grow area.... to an extent.

Yeah, the claims (and many photos) are that super cropping does the same as LST. Those that favor super cropping claim that it's less stress on the plants than LST is. Who knows, when it all comes from personal preference? I didn't like the idea of super cropping at first, but I've been reading a lot about this the last few days myself. In his one guy's thread, it looks a lot like LST, because he uses ties just to hold the bent stems in place for a week or two so they don't straighten up too much.

ANYHOOO, I'll be flipping to 12/12 very soon. Your plants are looking sooo beautiful! Awesome buds, healthy green leaves.... YAY!

Shes really starting to Fatten up.. she has that blueberry smell to it.. Luv It!
So that's why it's called Blue Hash, eh? I didn't know! I didn't do any reading up on it as it was my "freebie" instead of a purchase. I kept planning on reading about BH, but then kept forgetting. I figured it was one of the plants that gets a bluish tint (if not a lot of color) to it.
