1st girl I've done nothing besides thin out some and take off big fan leaves. Haven't topped. Have a 2x4x6 ac infinity tent they're about to go in. 2nd girl has been topped and thinned out. This is my first grow so afraid to take off too much. They're getting switched to flower next week btw. Just seeing what and if I should remove anymore before I switch to 12/12. Tent does come with trellis line btw which I plan to use. Like i said new to all this so just trying to do research and learn as I go.

Where you do suggest I top the 1st one? I was gonna go below the top 2nd or 3rd node? And just remove leaves from inside and bottom correct?
Consider topping lower and then rooting the section you removed. You’re going to have to consider stretch and a 6’ tall tent doesn’t have a lot of headspace after hanging your light. And only remove what is under the canopy after you flip. Lollipopping is what some call it. Remove all the scrawny shoots that will just be suckers. Those too can be rooted and grown out. If you have someplace to do that.

Ok what can I use to root those? Super thrive? Or am I thinking of something else
there are a lot of methods. i grow in coco. i just use a little rootone (any rooting hormone will work, or none at all, a lot of people don't use any) and stick my cutting in a cup of damp coco, then put them on the edge of the direct light for a few days, to promote root growth and not veg growth. after 4 or 5 days of that, i put them a little closer to the lights, and leave them alone till i see roots coming out of the bottom of my cups. i have at least an 85% success rate, occasionally get one that just sputters, or damps off, but the large majority does fine with very minimal efforts

Ok cool. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully they do well I have an extra light and tent just for the clones from the beginning of this grow so it won't disturb these 2 while in flower. I do have some excess N as you can probably see. I've been flushing a little bit just to get as much as possible out before the flip. I also have lotus Bloom and lotus calmag for flower

Btw I have yet to feed. The excess N can only be from the FFOF that I've been using so when I transplanted to 5 gal pots I mixed in some coco and perlite just to dilute it a bit and it seems to definitely be helping somewhat. Just been watering to about a 10-15% runoff to hopefully flush the rest of that excess N out so hopefully it doesn't mess with them when I flip.

You're going to want N for the stretch, don't flush it all out

Okay good to know. I've only been getting like 10-15% runoff so not flushing too much but I'll be sure to not get rid of too much. Other than that I'm hoping they're ready for the flip after I top and defoliate a little more.
