Justified?

let's please keep the opinions about illegal immigration and everything else to the other threads in which they currently reside. let's try to keep this discussion focused on the decision of the BP agent, whether his life was in danger, whether deadly force was justified.

nope....not justified!!!!i dont think throwing a rock from across the river constitutes using deadly force.

Yes, he is justified.

Rocks are considered lethal weapons. The border patrol agent was in a dangerous situation with many hostile people around. If he was knocked unconscious by a rock there is not telling what was going to happen.

And BTW, the kid already had 6 charges of smuggling people across the border so he was no boyscout on a field trip.

yes, justified. rocks carry momentum just like a bullet. Both are projectiles, if the kid is playing a grown-up's game hes gonna reap the grown-up consequences.

The problem with militarizing a border is that people who want to cross with use military style tatics to get across which include deadly force.

are you joking? we all know he didnt have a gun. it would have been a better defense for the cop who shot him.

if the police were justified in using lethal force everytime rocks were thrown at them, there would be hundreds of deaths a year in the US from drunk folks going home after sports games. i've never left a home-game where the home team won, and NOT seen drunk-ass people throw rocks, bottles, flares, and more at cops....

i've never seen cops start shooting their fellow americans cause their being pelted with rocks...

i've seen americans shoot at foreign kids for fun too many times. videos of soldiers in iraq practicng shooting a 50 caliber rifle, shooting at local's herds of goats, videos of americans offering iraqui's food, then throwing it in the mud, laughing, border patrol agents killing kids running away...... then americans wonder why the rest of the world despises us.....


he shot and killed ACCROSS THE BORDER. the guy was already out of his jurisdiction, the kid was going BACK TO MEXICO!!!!!!

his job is to prevent people from entering the US, not chase them down all the way back to mexico and kill them.

if he would've let off a warning shot letting the kids know he's not playing.... but no. he just killed a mexican because he didn't care, because it was a stupid wetback trying to cross the border.

i hope that agent looses his job, looses his pension, and i hope a drunk illegal immigrant runs him over and kills him.... KARMA.

1st. a terrorist is somebody who uses fear to make a point.

2nd. the law is flawed. it was ok before, but since 1990's there has been a sharp increase in the amount of illegal immigrants comming to the US. the system has to change. either issue more visas, invent a new type of visa, or do something. the ucrrent system isn't working. people are getting killed for going over an imaginary line on the floor... that's fucked up.

if you want your country back do something about Conglomorate's stranglehold of america.

there's companies that are so big in the US, they don't have to fear going bankrupt, they have our backing. it's the norm now. that is not capitalism. the law-breaking terrorists are right here at home.

i think the video is fucked up, although mexicans think its ok to try and sneak in and if they are caught they just are just sent home, if they think they will be killed, i bet less will try and come over

I'd say he probably justified to shoot him, but could have also avoided killing him, considering a rock obviously isn't that dangerous and also it said that they were throwing rocks in their direction, they never actually said they hit the officer, which probably means that they didn't. Couldn't really tell too much from the video. If that is true then I don't think its right. And at the same time when soldiers murdered students in ohio for protesting in the 70s, i would look past a texas border guard doing the same to a mexican now...

they terrorize our medical and welfare programs. they terrorize my children and family when I go into a corner store and try to purchase something by trying to sell us drugs all the time. My quality of life is lowered because I have to deal with these rats. I have to look at them on every street corner. 97% of the outstanding warrants for murder in LA county are for these scum of the earth. They do nothing but commit crimes starting with their first crime of illegally entering my country. Thank god for outstanding agents like the one that shot and killed that terrorist rat that was in our country illegally.
