Just transplanted for the first time, couple quick questions, thoughts?

so I just transplanted my plants yesterday, and Today will be the 4th day I’ve been vegging them under the MH lights, I’ve had the 1000 watt bulb dimmed at 50% for the first few days just about 16 inches from my canopy just to get them situated. I thought blasting them with 1000 watts out of the gate may been a little aggressive starting off. So my questions is should I leave them at 500 for a few more days and work my way up to 750, then a 1000? Or just let them have it. And if so how far would I keep the lights away at 1000 watts during veg with the mh, The lights are off now but will post some pictures when before they pop back on, any help or suggestions letting me know if I’m fucking up or I’m on the right track will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Getting them used to more light gradually is the smart choice. You would ideally measure your lighting and / or read your plants to optimize your setup.

As far as distance from the light, I always put my hand under the light at plant height. If it burns my hand it burns the plant. You basically wanna get as close as possible without the risk of burning. This always worked for me. Bear in mind, plants grow fast so leave a buffer zone there. Good luck!

i do have a light meter, what should it be reading?

If they were already under that light at full power before the transplant then I'd just leave it full blast. I use HIDs myself and don't dim anything. I'll start with a 400 and as they get bigger switch to a 600 then finally a 1000W if the space they are taking up needs that much for good coverage.

If I can get by with a 600 on the light rail I'd rather do that than use the 1000W to save on expensive power. The rail only uses 9W so I'm saving 391W/hr.

I’ve never had them on full blast before, I just have my ballast dimmed to 50 percent using a 1000w mh bulb, which I heard is possibly much harder on the bulb as well? Any recommendations on any light rails?
