Isn't your first birthday the day you are born? i.e. 4/17/2010

So then you are 1 year old on your second birthday? 4/17/2011

Think about this the next time you say that you are celebrating your 18th / 21th / 30th / 40th /50th. You are celebrating that many years of life but it is your 19th / 22th / 31st / 41st / 51st birthday. LOL

He's not saying you would be a year older. He's counting the day you were born as 1 of your birthday and guess what folks.
That would be correct, however it would take quite some time to explain to someone that even though its your 36th b-day you're only 35 lol lawd jesus, I wonder some times.

i don't get it.

you are only born once, therefore you only have 1 birthday. the others are just a celebration of. so after one year you would celebrate the first anniversary of the day of your birth. or, ... "your first birthday celebration". next year will be the second ytear that you celebrate the DAY of your birth.

no what he means is, technically we're a year old when we're 2, because we celebrate our birthday upon the first second of our life.

you have a party after a year to celebrate that year, making you 1 year old. there is no extra year.


you only have ONE birthday. the others are just a celebration of said day.

It is just silly to say that your second birthday is the first birthday because your parents laugh, cry, celebrate (stogies, hugs and kisses, communication with everyone they know) on your actual birth day. You are celebrating one year +/- 38 weeks on their second birthday.

Birth day (literally) 3/17/2010 38 weeks old
2nd Birthday 3/17/2011 1 year 38 weeks old
