I am about 12 days into growing, this is my second attempt, my previous try i started to late and with no money at the time i couldnt afford a proper set up; nor a suitable place because of secruity purposes  ..

so heres the rough way i started..even knowing what season just begun i got the idea to finally become serious to begin growing my own plant. I began germenation on one seed (yes one seed, i will soon be germenating more once i see how well my grow set up works. Im crossing my fingers its a female and grows alright without to many bumps in the road) i started sep 25 on a morning, did the whole germination process but used the sun the entire 4 days before the root popped finally out. I then put the seedling in a pot which had previously had another plant thats been dead for quite some time now, picked out most roots from the old plant, moved the soil around, there is little but enough fertiliser to grow my seedling into what it is today. i have been using the suns rays for the past 11 days to grow my plant i know it wont last long with it... So today a bought a 48in fixture that holds 2 bulbs, 4, 40watt cfl lights (2 cool white 3050lumens/6500k-2 warm 3400lumens/3000k)
i will be getting more supplies this weekend im trying to get some guidence on what i should buy and if i need to take anything back, im already taking the cool whites back, as one of the bulbs doesnt work (you get what you pay for huh) what type of food should i feed my plant, i know your supposed to keep about 1-4 inches away from the top of the plant with a cfl, should i buy more bulbs for when it grows alittle taller (wanna harvest at 4ft in height so id start flowering when its bout 2ft) my main concern is the food and nuetruients as i dont know where to begin when it comes to that im alittle tight on expense anything below the 70 dollar range would be great, also im wondering the way ive treated it so far will it be alright? hope someone actualy reads this and heplps me out. thanks much il try to upload a pic of the plant and setup, we will see if i can upload it with an iphone...itl have to wait til im on a desktop

alright, I'll bite.
for now that lighting will suffice for 1 plant. Good call on getting both 6500k and the 3000k right off the bat, using a mixed spectrum of lighting for both grow phases helps alot. Can you get ahold of some fox farm nutes? if so get grow big for veg and tiger bloom for flower. if not get something high in n levels and low p and k levels for veg and something with lower n levels and higher p and k for flowering. Do you have a ph tester yet? do you have a fan blowing on the plants? as the plant grows i would continue to add bulbs until its no longer possible to fit any more bulbs or control the heat.

i personally started on general hydroponics 3 part micro grow and bloom get a soil /water ph tester tds meter to start then get the other stuff when you get the chance... having the meters help diagnose problems easier and faster and help you control your garden better ,skip them if you want ,just my suggestion...

The best tip I could give you would be to save up some money, buy some real lighting, buy a couple growing books, buy some high quality genetics from a top breeder, keep your yap shut and never ever for any reason tell anyone that you are growing and stay the heck off of sites like this. You will learn every bad habit, every wrong way of doing things, every possible inaccuracy, myth, misconception and urban legend, and they will be presented to you by people who will swear on their mother's eyes that their information is the best most sound factual information you could ever receive and far more times than not they will convince you to not take the advice of the few here who do know what they are doing.

When you know what you are doing, come back and laugh at all those who don't know what they are doing, but who would have been your teachers if you were not smart enough to home school yourself.

Since I am positive that you will not take my advice ........... good luck ........... you will need it.

That's slightly pessimistic I think, but ultimately good advice. You can't be too safe now-a-days. But on to the actual advice.

Nutrients - http://www.amazon.com/Fox-Farm-FX14049-Nutrient-Formula/dp/B00572026S/ref=sr_1_2?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1317977592&sr=1-2 These will last you a while at least, and Fox Farm is a proven brand. Like stated before, a ppm meter will help significantly when you go to make your nutrient solution http://www.amazon.com/HM-Digital-TDS-EZ-Tester-Purity/dp/B001UUN6VO . You can pickup some ph test strips to test your solution and runoff(these will help with diagnosing problems that may occur in the future), you can purchase some ph up/down with strips for fairly cheap http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-pH-test-kit-down/dp/B000NP7S66. Another thing to keep is mind is circulation. You need to get these girls some fresh air somehow. Or at least some circulation. Once they breath in co2 and exhale oxygen, they need new air to come in so they have new co2 to breath in. If it gets too stale in there, they will start to show symptoms of suffocation. As for lighting, you can pickup some of these http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=100664506&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&MERCH=REC-_-product-1-_-100664505-_-100664506-_-N&locStoreNum=4745 and some 23w compact fluorescents and kind of surround your plant. These are low heat, low energy, and very cheap lights, and extremely easy to setup. But keep in mind, with fluorescents of any kind, light placement is a never ending battle. I move my lights around multiple times per day to keep them as close as possible, but without letting them grow or reach into the bulb. You have a good start, but as your plant gets bigger, these are the things you're going to want to start doing as soon as possible. I think all those things I listed you could probably get for around 70-80 bucks total. I know that's right at or above your budget, but your situation would be drastically improved. Hope this helps, good luck with your grow! If you have any questions feel free to message me.

edit - The fox farm nutrients, ppm meter, and ph test strips with ph up/down subtotal is $72.19. Your lighting is sufficient for a few weeks at least, then you can add 2-3 CFLs for 30-40 bucks, tops, and you should be well on your way.
