Just want to share my low budget experiment.
It keeps evolving...haha Change this , Change that, Try this..LOL

It is all fun

Project:
1. Build a grow box
2. Grow 2 plants from bag seed as cheap as I feel I could and see what happens.
3. Cultivation is done @ a remote cabin location in Arizona that will be unattended for 5-7 days at a time

Here is what I came up with.
Off the shelf hardware store stuff.
Free discarded cabinet
Light's CFL 1- 65w/300 5000K 4300 Lume, 1-68w/300 2700K 4200 Lume
Home built reflectors
2 PC fans
1 6inch fan
Timer for lights

Water system
10 gallon Tote
Orbit timer
Drip hose and drip heads

Just thought I would share my experiment.
Sorry pictures out of order.

Open to all suggestions and comments.;-)

nice set up you got going here. the plants look healthy so far. the mylar will definitely help with reflectivity. you should be producing some high quality herb!

There are 2 plants growing in the box now.
1st one popped out of the soil on 9/9. The second was on 9/14 or 15th.. go figure...just a slow starter or just retarded

So far so good after 15 days..they are still alive.

looking good so far, how are you temps holding? With that big of a CFL in that small of a space, and fans that small you might start having issues with the temp at the canopy being high...if its too much I'd put a larger fan up top and put that fan that you've got up top down in the back corner pointed up so that you are pushing cooler air up instead of warmer air down.

Massah, good point about the canopy and the heat build up. I will probably need to make those adjustments in the near future.

The temps in the box has been running @ a low of 80 and a high of 88... that is what the meter said.
Just a note I have electricity to the cabin if anybody is wondering. But, no city water source. Had to setup my own 200 gallon water system, Sat Tv and septic... haha
I don't run the air conditioning when I'm not there.
The temps here in Phoenix Az have been about 90's with lows in the 70's. But in the mountains where the cabin is located. Temps are 8-10 degrees cooler. It should be cooling down over the next few weeks...Az winter is on it's way..haha Dry and cold!

If your not familiar with the desert here in Az.
The boys in Az can tell you it can be extreme.. Temps can swing 30 to 40 degrees @ night.

It is not the best conditions to grow in. But, it is a experiment...haha

Once I finish my experiment. I will set up another grow in my house in Phoenix. Where the conditions are stable.
