Just need a Lil Input

I have a few plants growing in an aluminum storage tote with 2 reflective grow lights and constant air flow, watered when needed and on a 12/12 lighting schedule. Starting to get a strong smell off of them. Just making sure everything is going according to plan. If any input at all feel free.
 
That plant is dying for a new home, bigger pot and more dirt, much more dirt. Some of those leaves look like they are starting to droop, my guess is it's to wet.
 
Gently remove them from the cup, dirt and all, your gunna end up with the entire contents just sitting in your hand. Start gently squeezing the dirt it will start to come apart and just crumble away. After all the dirt has fallen away. If your lucky the root structure hasnt gone totally ape shit and might be able to get them separated. I ve been able to do it a couple times. Or just save the larger one.
 
How should I do the lighting schedule and does each pit need it own light and if I leave the all in one pot what would happen?
 
If you leave them all in one pot most people grow one plant in a 5 gallon pot, you could try all three in a 5 gallon or larger depending on your grow space dimensions. Judging by your leaves it's either an indica or hybrid. If your light can cover the entire grow area then you are good. Rather than asking how many lights a plant needs ask yourself if the amount of lights you have covers your whole grow area. During flower your plants should have a 12/12 schedule, in veg 16/8, 18/6, 20/4. it's up to you however I use 18/6 in veg unless it's an auto flower.

If you run water over them (gently) they will untangle much easier. Keep the water running on them while you gently untangle. I separate bundles of plants (non-MJ plants but it wouldn't matter if they were) all the time. I throw a bunch of seeds in a long soil planter, put it on my heating mat to germinate then when they get large enough separate them, remove the soil and put them in hydro. I haven't lost one yet. It's no big deal, they will survive.
