Just my luck

The house next to us has been vacant for about 2 years. Last week I walked outside to see a cop car sitting in the drive way. I figured maybe someone had broke into the house and the police was there filing a report, but no, even worst, the cop and family bought the place and are moving in to live.
I've had such a great time growing but I just don't see anyway to continue at this time. Fortunately I am between grows so nothing has to die.
This Sucks!

As long as there's no incriminating light, smell or heat loss, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Plus, a very large number of cops these days are pot smokers themselves (works stress, you kno) and no longer accept to uphold the stupid weed laws.

Keep your grow space hidden and don't forget, cops don't suspect their neighbors EVER as long as they're in good relations or friends. Just be nice and act normal and nothing bad is gonna happen.

And try not to have raging pot parties, keep the music down and the shades closed. Also don't have suspicious people over for short periods of time, cause that's a real give-away that you're growin and sellin stuff.

EDIT: Don't leave bongs or rolling papers or anything that might be related to pot (yes, even the High Times Magazine next to your toilet) around, because cops have authority to investigate a house the moment they see any suspicious drug related object.

just b nice and welcome em to the neighborhood... as long as you are not selling out of your house or being dumb about it he will never suspect a thing.

Well I don't sell weed, never have, I grow it for myself and give some away to friends. No wild parties here either. I just don't know if I could deal with the stress of always wondering if this guy is going to smell something and start getting suspicious. I've met the guy, he's an older cop who still patrols, his big thing is DUI's, which is fine but I don't know. The paranoia of growing was bad before the popo moved next door. I'm going to wait and see how it goes. My last harvest netted me around 6 ounces and it'll hold me over for awhile but I hate to buy weed so I'll have to come up with something.

Do not bring him laced cookies as a a welcoming gift. Other than that, practice good stealth and don't worry. If you greet him in the street every time with "Holy crap he knows!" running n your head, he'll eventualy get suspicious. Act like you are genuinely glad to have him as a neighboor and all's cool. Can't think of too many rippers who'd smash and grab your house now.

You'll be fine man! You do have odor control right, your plants don't stink up the entire house how could they smell up the outside of the house too?
