Wouldnt have mattered, had he wante dto be a dick he coulda got the K=9 unit out there to smell the car, and when the dog barked or twitched they woulda said he hit on something and searched anyway.. better to let em do it than present yourself as another hardass punk.. you'll get treated better that way

so your saying to consent to a search when you know you have illegal contraband in the car?????? sounds pretty stupid to me, if the cops are going to find it anyways make them work for it. Do not put yourself in handcuffs and lock yourself up.!! I have personally seen police dogs miss bags of weed on a search.

He said he didn't know the roach was under the seat. He thought the car was clean. He consented thinking the cop would come up empty and look like an ass.

i always tell em no, and tell them i am exercising my right to refuse. after that he'd have to get a warrant. fucking hate cops, come revolution we'll hunt them with high powered rifles for sport. hehehehe

and if you get picked up never ever ever give a statement, the law works on philosophy that the "guilty" will incriminate themselves, so they get you talking until they have you on tape or with a sworn witness that incriminates you, only ever speak to your lawyer, because they will fuck you every opportunity you give them.

Total agreement on that. When dealing with cops the ONLY word you should ever say to them is LAWYER.

If you talk and they can't quite remember right (cops are really big on having selective memory) you'll get screwed even more.

for all the people that say DONT consent to a vehicle search if the cop thinks that your holdin shit in your car..

I dont know how it is in your neck of the weeds, but over where im at, if a cop pulls you over and he thinks your holdin, and you dont consent to a vehicle search, the cop can arrest you anyways, and hold you for suspicion of possesion of a controlled substance. Even though your technically not charged with anything, you will be placed in holding, and your car impounded, and the cop can then proceed to search your car with or without your permission - and if he finds anything then he'll charge you n book u.

If he DONT find shit however, youll get your car back (after paying for the impound) and youll be let go with no charges. It fuckin sucks, but this is how cops intimidate people in to consenting to a search right there on the spot. So if you live in the Midwest, 1st off- just dont ride with anything on you. 2nd - if you dont consent to a search and the cop is REALLY suspicious of you, hes gonna take you in n search it wether you like it or not.

This is not true for where i live, i am in wisconsin which is the Midwest. and this is the law pertaining to this. Assuming the police have probable cause -- a reasonable basis or justification to believe that you or your passengers are involved in criminal activity -- they can search your car and objects belonging to passengers. Once impounded the car can be searched locked compartments and all. Even if the car is towed for being parked illegally or for parking tickets. Alot of people believe that refusing a search is probable cause which is not true. I do suggest all people learn the traffic laws and search and seizure laws pertaining to their individual state.

If you must ride with illegal contraband do it wisely, make sure you have a valid dl, plates. Car is in good working order no cracked windshields, no incense or deco hanging from rearview mirrors, no broken tail lights etc....... And of course drive sober and obey all traffic laws, seatbelt, speed, stop signs, lights, use blinkers..etc..........

in the state of Florida if you say no to a search they tell you to wait for a k-9 unit (if there's not one there) but the thing they don't tell you is you DONT have to wait I repeat you DONT have to wait on the k-9 unit. People think you do and that's how you get busted.

They told me and i quote "You have one of two options. You can either give us consent to search your vehicle or we can bring the k-9 unti out. Its up to you."
