Just got a 400w HPS - But what's wrong with my plant?

Hi guys, as said in the title i recently upgraded from CFL's to my 400w HPS (wish i could say i'm enjoying it but i haven't seen results yet.) My plant recently stopped growing and has taco leaved some of the upper leaves, whats wrong? I would like to see some growth with this new light..
What do?

Do you have an exhaust fan? Whats the temperature at the top of the plant? overall room temp? Is there a circulating fan in the room? How frequently are you watering?

Keep in mind the HPS is going to put off much more heat than other other kind of light. Because of this you need great air circulation and frequent watering.

Also, growth will show in the form of buds :) HPS is best for bud production, whereas MH is better for veg... looks like you're in veg. If you have a digital ballast it should accept a MH conversion bulb.

Sidenote... your plant looks like its ready to go to 12/12, remember it will double or triple in size during flower. You might need to transplant as well, looks like he/she is in a small container :/

I actually just swapped over to my hps and am going 12/12 to start flowering... should i transplant her tonight?

I upgrade a few cycles ago to the exact setup you have (I can the the bulb in the one pic.) You should use a
bigger container for a nice sized light such as that to give yourself the best yield potential. So yes I believe its
time to move her on up!

I usually transplant once I know what the sex is (if grown from seed)- This way you can save yourself the hassle of transplanting a male only to kill it. If this is a clone and you know its a female then go ahead and transplant her.
