Just found seeds in two of my plants after about 60 days of flower. What should I do now?

This is my first grow and everything was looking great up until I went to look at my plants today and found these "ball shaped" growths in my flowering buds. I pinched one off and it turns out it was a seed. Both plants are bag seeds, so unknown genetics, but I think they got pollinated by a plant I had in a separate grow container (was too young for me to tell the sex of it yet). Now I have these two massive plants with good sized buds that seem to have stopped growing/maturing because of seed growth.

I've put a lot of time and energy into growing and learning, so I'm really bummed to see seeds (on 4/20 of all days). At this point, I'd rather let them finish their growth and harvest them for seeds to have in the future. If that's the case, should I continue to let them grow as normal and harvest in a few more weeks? Do seeds need to dry/cure with whatever buds I harvest to be viable for use in the future? And is there any use in using the buds/trim (minus seeds) in edibles/oil once harvested, dried, and cured?

I ordered more seeds last week from a reputable source and these ones are feminized, so I plan on starting those as soon as they ship in. What precautions do I need to make to make sure these new plants don't also get pollinated?

Thanks everyone! Happy 4/20!

You can harvest the seed once you are done with drying your flowers. No reason why the flowers cannot still be used. This is how it was before sensimilla became the norm.

Can you post pictures of the seed you have found? Sounds like you are close harvest.

If I were you I would toss those seeds and never look back. Chances are that you will have a hermie from those seeds. True females don’t have seeds, if they do, it’s bad genetics or you have a hermie and don’t even know it.

There is a prejudice against seeds in bud because you can't charge as much for them in the market. Most growers were sellers, not growing just for themselves so market value was important.

In reality, it doesn't take a lot away from the buds. They might be marginally smaller, but they will be plenty potent and smokeable. Plus free seeds.

I usually intentionally pollinate some of the branches in my grow to get seeds for future use. Some of the strains I have aren't around anymore so it gives me a chance at a second round later on if I like it. Once I take out the seeds, I can't tell the difference in the smoke between seeded and unseeded flowers. I don't sell so I don't care. ;)

Take the chance. Been there, done that, and the herb was incredibly good with 1 seed, didn’t change the fact that I still ended up with a hermie even though the weed was top shelf. Growing environment was spot on, not even a sign of deficiency the entire grow until about 5 weeks into flower I saw a sac, and I check my plants religiously and know what to look for. Just came out of no where. I chopped it up to bad genetics because there shouldn’t have been a seed to begin with. But hey, don’t let me detour you away from trying. Hopefully your luck will be better than mine.
