Ok I understand there are still some white pistols they come and go in spurts, the trics are damn near all cloudy with some clear/amber mixed in below will be a crap ton of pics, I dont have anything but 2 androids (GPS Location is off btw) and 1 camera so there is a mix of different pics. Also if they are or are not ready what do you guys think of my first grow? I germinated this bagseed May 4th, planted it May 6th. I switched to flowering June 21st. Its all under 100% CFL's 138 watts total directly on her, 92 watts on another plant close by maybe 8-12iches away so not much but a little extra light from that. In MG Soil (I understand its MG but havnt had many issues) I also used MG ferts on her feeding her every or every other watering, just depended on what the plant looked like it needed.

If your trichs are mostly cloudy it's ready. Next time try and add more light, you'll get a better harvvest.

Yeah, they all look ripe to me & they've been in real flower for at least 10 - 11 weeks which is fine even for CFL's. And if u say they mostly milky trichs then that sounds pretty much ready to chop too.

And despite looking like they've tried to eat themselves to death, they do look nice big buds indeed & look very juicy - they've definitely stripped & mutated themselves to pump all their energy into their flowers! Hopefully will be a good smoke dude!

@ Bullwinkle I plan on getting either a hps/mh 400 watter or 2 240 watt LED panels next grow I need to invest before my next grow for sure.
@RedWhite what do you mean by eat themselves to death and stripped and mutated?
@Po boy I took a sample about 3 weeks ago and 1 month ago, I cut off buds that where going nowhere probably less then half a gram total. It was a sativa feeling, with a little headache because they where not ready, I dry for a day or so and cured it for like 6 days or so to so that probably helped.
I just watered yesterday, should I let it dry out and water one more time with just plain water.

you still have a lot of hairs that haven't receded, you could harvest now but if you let it go another week they might get a little denser. If it was my plant id be rolling it up right now but I have no patience at all

Adjorr lol man your funny as shit, I have no patience as well BUT! I want to do this shit right my first time. It seems like every week its another week to give it, I screwed the pooch and cut alot, and by alot I mean ALOT of the fan leaves off and im 99% sure that by doing so I made her slow way way way the hell down, its ok but its getting kinda WTF I could have been smoking a cured harvest by now :P Plus the fact that I do not have a damn carbon filter yet, and I'm maxing out what I can do to cover and lower the smell, 60 degrees outside I leave my ac on 68 because even though they are cfls, they do get hot my grow area will hit 90+ easy if I dont keep a fan blowing up into the hood and my ac on. When they get hot they smell more, a carbon filter is a must. Adjorr I'm going to do my best to let her go until the weekend at the least. She might not make it lmao I'm gonna say by thurs-fri night she might be hanging upside down or on my racks I made, just depends on what seems best at the time. I'm not worried about smoking it to much, I cut back for now, taking care of personal things you all know how that goes.

lol, feel free to harvest any time man if your getting ambers then its good to go. The last 2 weeks of flowering is when the buds really swell up and pack on weight so it would probably be worth it to wait at least a few more days. Best days for harvest according to the farmers almanac this month are the 26th 27th and the 30th and yes I do my harvesting and seed planting based on this call me crazy if u want :eyesmoke:

lookin really nice twizzlor, congrats on your first grow. i'd say another week to let the buds dense up a bit. another sign is that the hairs will recede to the bud. most are still sticking out right now. peace

Thanks all, im gonna let her go until tues i hope, which is also a good day for harvest. Im gonna be honest this is the hardest part of the entire grow. Does it get easier over time, the waiting and the want to chop when you first seen your own buds form? I wanted to chop them a month ago, but the fine people of riu said wait a week or 2 then another week. Week after week i have waited to cut her down and seeing these buds get huge is making the wait worth it. My goal has been 1 oz and by the looks of it there might be 1 oz to my untrained eye. So hopefully im on track.

no it dosent get easier, im basicly ready to smoke my plants the second they pop out of the ground, and so is my wife. The fact ive been able to harvest smokeable bud with even 1 amber trichrome is really amazing, I remember my last crop I harvested 2 weeks early because I HAD to have a joint for the game of thrones season finale

I'm diggin those colas, nice job. Hey everyone has their own preference on when to harvest, some like cloudy, some amber and some half and half. If it hasn't already been mentioned, go get yourself a radio shack microscope, it's the handheld with the little light on it. Check the trichomes with that and you'll be set.

Keep up the good work :)

I have the 420 scope and a regular microscope the next investment is a loupe, but im going to wait until after this harvest to get it. I need to get a loupe, a entire venting system including a carbon filter, lights hos/ mh or leds and look into coco hempy buckets.

Lol i don't mean it as an insult man - is compliment to the plant that it put all its energy into flowering for u. And i say that from seeing how its stripped various nutes outta alot of leaves & also looks like alot of later leaf formation wasn't fully finished as many have got rounded edges (rounded "fronds"??, i can't remember terminology right now!).

I could well be wrong tho & this is just typical of that strain but whichever, ur buds look good & juicy in my opinion & it seems to be cause the plant was desparate to start having seeds!

And yeah, i still stand by them being ripe enough to chop fine - if u doing next tues then that cool - and people always seem to say 1 more week; its cause ur ass is bettered covered than if u say chop now & it turns out to be bad advice!

But seriously, u'll enjoy it now for sure & u've plenty of time in future for experimenting - once u hopefully got ur equipment wishlist set up, maybe do something like run a couple same strains next to each other & deliberately chop 1 at 8 weeks & other at 10 weeks, etc, etc. U can learn whatever u wanna learn quite easily, but also don't phase yourself out thinking u gotta learn it all at once.

Lol I wasnt offended :) just didnt understand what you meant is all :) I understand now, I stopped all nutes for a week or so and thats why she is yellowing out, 3 days ago I gave her some nutes and molasses just because she wasn't looking like she was ready just yet, and then the next day she looked good, 3 days ago was the final feeding, tonight or tomorrow I was thinking about flooding her with just plain water and then letting her soak it all up and dry out for Tuesdays harvest, think this will work? Also I can post the humidity in a bit for next tuesday and the days I plan on drying, I'm hoping to hang dry or rack dry for 4 days then into the jars.

Speaking of equipment, I'm gonna have 10' of 4" and 10' of 6" flex duct work in a few days I'm doing a job right now with it, I work at a place once a week that has 1000's of pounds of carbon and I'm thinking about grabbing a 5gal bucket from there of it, gonna check on Friday if its activated carbon, which I think it is. If so I'm building my carbon filter. I'm pretty confident in my skills. I have designed and built alot of things in my line of work. Thats already a $100 saved which will go into my lighting or my inline fans. I'm a jack of all trades master of 1 :) I wish I could show you some of the things Ive done, but Ive been all over the country and over seas twice and it would be stupid to post something that will definitely give my ID away I promise though ill post something up that you all should like after this grow.

Well the humidity looks like its going to be high outside, I'm assuming my house will be a little lower in the high 60's to mid 70's for humidity if i turn my ac on I can get it dropped down to high 50's to low 60's I bet. Either way it might take longer to hang dry them. I read something by nebula haze and she said to rack dry in higher humidity places. We will see the weather could always change anyways ill be back gotta run out.

Ok here is what is going on with my girl right now, The leaves are getting hard and crispy (all of them). When you bend them they are cracking and breaking. I places a penny on one of the leaves to show just how hard they are getting, the penny barely moved the leaf.
