I just got done reading the entire thread and it definitely looks interesting, one question though, how did your bud turn out?

This is a GREAT setup, Jethro. Chances are I'll copy this when I'm ready to start growing myself next month. How was the smell at the very end of the grow? Was it noticeable throughout your house, or was it just in the room where you were growing? Congrats on a great grow, and happy smoking. bongsmilie

My thoughts on your build and lights.

Looks like you have used a CFL with a low temp. You should use a GE Daylight CFL. You can get them at Walmart. 2 26w for $9. They are brighter than my verilux and of course offer me flexibility with size and shape of box.

Check those GE Daylights. You wont regret it.

I am using 2- 30 gal(114 l) container. Any one know what the sqaure feet would be for this size box.

where did you get the cfl 8 light holder at? i've been looking everywhere for one of those. i have almost identical setup as u. only i have my lights hanging from a clothes rack down to the plant about 3-4 inches away from the plant. for now 2 100 watt CFL bulbs, but im adding more lights, some uvb and uva lights and 2 150 watt CFL it works really good, the results are good and quick.

First off would like to say love the setup. trying to absorb all the info i can into the old noggin. I figured the only way to learn more was to ask some questions, so forgive me if this a stupid one (dont know if the old "only stupid question is the one not asked" adage applies here). Would a single 400w HPS be able to be used or would that be way too much of a hazard?

the 400 watt = way way way to much heat for that setup, or so much ventilation it would be like a hurricane .

i found a single 125 watt cfl that put out like 10,500 lumens look on greenshorticulture.com

hey i was wondering what exactly you used to mount the fans? i searched home depot for an "ABS adapter" like you suggested but i had no luck. also which piece in the box-lid-box-lid design did you lift up to gain access??

it's a regular 4 light bathroom fixture from home depot with 4 lamp splitters in it. you can also get those at home depot.
