I really planned on vegging until the first couple weeks of december but honestly...Im down to veg until the new year and really fill it out. I just have to keep in mind how much they'll grow in flower. I'll be using the Mh bulb the first week of flower to reduce stretch.

Is this a little bit of heat stress? when the light was higher I had my ac unit timed to shut off 4 times a day for 30 minutes. now with the light lower the temps got to about 86 and one night 88. i know that isnt really extremely hot but its not ideal and my plants arent used to that heat.

haha well thats what i want to here. the sooner the better. I learned in the first grow that patience is a virtue but I just really cant wait to see what I can do this time around.

should i raise the light a little? I think there is good enough air movement and the thermometer is constantly reading decent temps.

You should be good then, I'd just watch those temps and keep on eye on the leaves for heat stress if your pushing 4-6" from the canopy:)

I moved it up a little less than a foot above the screen and put the thermometer on the screen and its still reading around 82 regularly and 84 at the highest. I think ill get a little fan in there at canopy level to cool it down more. I have the 16inch fan hanging from the top blowing at the back of the tent giving really good circulation but I suppose there are some hot spots still directly under the light.

You guessed right, having a fan blowing between the canopy and the hood is a must if temp is an issue! Thats one of the things I found out after many different angles lol.. Your temp should drop a few degrees, assuming your exhaust is sufficient. I don't like to much air I just keep it on the low setting on a little 8" fan from hd. I'm running a 250 right now with 200w cfl and a fan blowing across keeps temps below 80!

fuckkkkk! I broke sour kush training it. dammit, im so pissed. i have it trained now so its back together almost perfectly and the stalk didnt break all the way through, about 70-75%. I think it will heal, but Im still angry, and hope I wont have a weak spot in my plant down the road. im betting i do though

making the switch...taking some clones tomorrow, letting them bask in the light for another day, and then giving them darkness for ~ 29 hours in order to get the 12/12 cycle on the times i want it. hopefully the girls will stretch into the screen more.

I know i havent given it but 36 hours but I want to take it off because it makes the plant more controllable in the screen, you know? I like how the plant is getting light, like it was basically topped. How much would it stress the plant out if I just cut that shit off now?

Topping will cause obvious stress but can be well worth it at the end of the day... especially with scrog.

If scrogging with seed then topping and fimmin is recommended
