Jars: Glass vs Plastic

As the title says. I am wondering if theres any difference between plastic airtight jars or glass ones. I bought one today that is made of some type of shatterproof plastic. I bought it at walmart. I saw glass jars but they didnt have the rubber seal at the top. They were basically regular ass jars. Some people swear by glass and some say plastic is best. Debate it out!

Plastic is a petroleum product and not only might leach, but is guaranteed to leach by-products...albeit possibly very slowly. Choose wisely.

Glass is definitely the way to go. Mason jars are great. Classico sauces come in mason jars and so do other things like Coconut oil, but they're cheap enough to just buy new jars when you need them. Ikea has the jars with hinges and latches on them pretty cheap too, but they're still a lot more expensive than Mason jars.

Glass...

Pros:
Its recyclable
No risk for BPA
Easy to clean
You can see through it

Cons:
Breaks easy
Heavy

I choose glass because its has been used for generations throughout history for containing whatever......

my TJ MAXX sells hermitically sealed jars cheap

Lol damn, not a single person for plastic. This was marketed as a candy jar, so I would assume it is made to at least store edibles. WHat I had heard was that thc will cling to the jar if its plastic. Is this true? Because I cant find my receipt so I dont want to have to go to walmart and make a fuss unless its worth it.

Have you ever put food in a tupperware dish and the food ends up staining the container? Even though the container is air tight the plastic is still porous.

I dont think its as much a taste diff.. I took a few buds and put in plastic containers cause i ran out of jars, and the buds in the plastic dried out in no time where the ones in jars were still ok.

I mean right now long term storage isnt an issue. Im assuming this harvest is gonna be at the least a half ounce at the most an ounce and a half. so best case scenario i only need to store an ounce and a half for no longer than 2 months. for next harvest im doing modular scrog so I will invest in glass jars then. I saw some huge ones in walmart but theyre screw cap lid, no rubber seal.

Just bought a case of qt mason jars at wally world.. Theyre seasonal so sometimes you have to ask an employee cause they usually store them in back.. The buds i mentioned that dried out , it only took a cpl dys and they were bone dry. Not saying that will happen everytime, who knows maybe i had a bad container..

Ive seen my mom using aluminum foil balls in the dryer so the clothes dont get static cling. Would lining a plastic container with aluminum foil help with the static in a similar way? It could also serve to block light from the buds. Just an idea xD

I am prone to being clumsy while stoned, and I would hate to ruin 3 months of work with a slippery hand. So I will stick to this plastic for this harvest and depending how everything goes I will reconsider for the next one.

If you are using plastic our of shear necessity of volume and not spending a bunch glass gars may I go ahead and suggest the food grade 5 gallon buckets available at all of the major hardware stores. They work great, and the are BPA free.

They didnt have those at the nearest walmart. They had those jarbs that look like they hold spices or candles, with that fat cap thing.
