Here's some Jamaican's blowing in the winds. The three tall phenotype's got put into 20 gallon smarties and the other three shorter phenotypes in 15 gallons smart pots. I got hit by a hurricane that ripped the roof off of my greenhouse this weekend. They held up pretty good the winds kicked up to 65+mph where I live, very strong plants. Here they are right after getting transplanted from 3 gallon pots into their final containers. You know the plants are happy when they start perking up for the sun right after transplant, vigorous strain.

I'm guessing the taller plants must have more Jamaican in them?

There were some Black Jamaican buds years ago that were almost too strong.

Yes kindnug that is what I am thinking they are leaning more towards the Jamaican. Bodhi used his 'Burning Spear' Jamaican in this cross. Should be some irie medicine.

I am excited they smell of key lime pie, graham crackers, marshmellows, and bubblegum

Jamaicans are great. They can be a little finicky because of their unknown lineage that is why we test. So far, so good. Strong beastly plants with even overall growth and vigor. Nice christmas tree structure to them.

I was wondering if the storm tormented any of the Island gardeners. Sorry to hear about your GH. My GH tried to kill me on Saturday when the 22 foot 2x8 broke and landed on my neck!

I don't believe Jamaica has a "true" landrace variety. Usually the strains throughout the Caribbean are offshoots of the Santa Marta Columbian, as it was commonplace for travelers to make stops throughout the Caribbean islands on their trade routes throughout history. Through acclimatization in the different areas, and differences in phenotypes you begin to see the variants that were produced in the Jamaican climate... or wherever else.

Lemme dig for some sources... I read that a while back and didn't just pull it out of my butt. DUB

With the popularity of Lumbo Gold and Asian Thai back in the '60s and '70s, it is speculated that many of the strains in non-native locations in the Americas can be traced back to those widespread strains.

In Europe it is a different story with African and Himalayan strains being the major influence.

I wonder where the original hemp plant started? Eden?

Forgot about this one..better late than never. Got three really nice sticky sativa phenos with fruity cedar/pine smells, fast finishing time and makes some tasty gooey, bubbly, fullmelt hash that reminds me of cedar sap. Thank you for the oppurtunity Bodhi I would grow her again!
