I just ordered a bag of aquagold though had to contact jr peters directly...it's not available on their site.. I have always done 1/2 tsp per gallon of citrus every watering which works well (some burnt tips depending on the strain but always big dense dank buds). Do you recommend the same schedule for feeding with aquagold?

Hi all, newbie here. I see that nobody has experience yet with the 16-4-17 but I have a big bag of it and am going to try it out.
Can anyone advise whether I'll need to supplement with cal/mag in a coconut coir hempy bucket? The label says 4% cal and 1.5% mag; is that enough?

I don't have a PPM/TDS meter but am using city water if that is helpful.
 
Was wondering if anyone using this brand would mind sharing a full recipe per gal. Much appreciated I am ready to run some less expensive but highly productive nutes.

I don't use a recipe, I feed based on what the plants need. Following a recipe or a schedule will never bring out the best of a garden and could even be harmful. What works in one garden may not work at all in another as all gardens are different

If you don't have a $3 bag of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate), that should be your first purchase. If you are using RO or bottled water you may need additional calcium, but normally tap or well water will have more than you need especially when added to a quality nutrient.

If you aren't running RO, it's very rare that you need both calcium and magnesium at the same time.

From my reading I remember RM3 likes crazy high sulfur levels and believes it up the number/size of trics. So using sulfates may be your best/cheapest option. Calcium Sulfate, Magnesium Sulfate, ... No need for CalMag.

I'm a big fan of dry nutes/supplements no need to pay for water unless you have to. Especially when they are available in just as good of quality for general uses, aka no Hydro/weed surcharge included.
 
Ah, even better! I have a big bag of epsom salts, but will hold off on the calcium purchase for now and watch for signs of deficiency.
And I'll read up on sulfates in the meantime. Good stuff, thank you!

I just started using the Jacks 5-12-26 with R/O water a couple weeks ago. This is strictly just the jacks and cal/nit and also I grow with hydroponics. Might be tough to tell from the pic but besides the rust spots the leaves have different shades of green spottings as well instead of a nice even green through out.

I use a recipe. Without one a fellow is guessing, IME.

3g/gal calcium nitrate
2g/gal 5-11-26 w/ micros
1g/gal epsom salts

Use 3/4 of your intended res fill so you can dilute to your intended EC.

I'm in big tub RDWC, I run EC 1.2-1.3 and pH 5.5-5.8 in veg, EC 1.4 and pH 5.8-6.3.

My one and only supplement is MKP, 0-52-32. I use .25 g/gal at peak bloom in addition to the above recipe.

I'm sure I'm leaving something on the table, but it's a great starting point and it's very simple. Hard to screw up is a very underrated bonus.

Looks like a Cal problem to me. I have a friend that used to use this and he had issues with precipitants when mixing sometimes, so I would suggest looking for that.

Finally you can always contact Jack's they are very helpful, perhaps have em test your water and suggest a proper mix?

I have always only recommended DynaGro Foliage Pro for Hydro
 
Thx for the help RM3. After speaking with someone else we figured I may be under feeding so gonna try to up my nutes first and see how things turn out.

I am new to growing but I grew up around my mom who had two massive gardens each year and always houseplants. all the jazzed up nutrients seemed silly and the more i read the more i know it doesnt take special nutrients to grow this plant. I understand there is a lot to learn but I refuse to listen to nonsense. i will read labels and listen to my logic.
have used jacks 20-20-20 and cal mag so far i just got blossom booster 10-30-20.
 
Really can't go wrong with Classic all the way from start to finish. Been using that for the past couple grows when I ran out Citrus. No problems as of yet to report. I do amend with dolomite lime, but really isn't needed unless I have longer flowering strains (10 weeks plus).

Got a whole bottle of Cal/Mag just collecting dust. Haven't needed to touch it in ages.

I ended up going the same rout with the 16-4-17 + bloom booster.. Only been about a week or two but all the ladies seem to be enjoying it.. So for a little less than $100 (including shipping) I'm hoping to not buy any more nutes for at least a few years lol.. Thanks for the advice TY!
