Jackberry, 11 weeks and still no amber trichs?

Hey folks,

Title says it all.. can't figure it out. Every report I've read, include from Sannie himself, around 55-65 days. I'm nearing 80 since start of 12/12. Even cut the light cycle to 8 hours last week. They are fat shrubs, but ffs... I want to dry and cure!

Any clues? They are under 300w hps bulb. 26-28 degree during lights on. 21-24 degrees during lights off. botanicare nutes: pbp bloom, liquid karma and cal-mag +.

I have 2 more plants with the same dilemma. Just photo'd 2 for now.

i never say this, but chop chop imvho..

im pretty sure iv read somewhere that not every strain will produce amber trichs, they just go cloudy.. iv had the odd plant that hasnt produced amber trichs 14 weeks into flower on a 9 week strain but the effects was a very stoned couchlock.

did your plants experience any stress throughout flowering? this can also prolong flowering times aswell as cold temps( in some strains)

i say wait a week then chop em.

Most of the trichs are still clear! Craziness for me.

During the start of veg I was playing with PH and mangled them but they recovered and grew to my plants today. No issues during flower or from mid-way thru veg.

I have a purple pheno killing fields, big mother, 80 days and still clear trichs all around.

Idk what I am doing wrong with these.

Up the P and k and lower the nitrogen... It will ripen the trichs fast. What nutes are you using?

Botanicare pure blend. Been feeding them full strength feeds at all times.

How would I do this btw?

switch to there ripe go easy at first amber trichs will soon follow

pure blend bloom has a low phospherous which can cause this and a 2-3-5 formula add the 1-4-5 ripe

Any recommendations on a formula to use/switch to to complete the grow?

Your using the pure blend pro grow ? If so then ya you should be using the bloom nutes because they drop the level of nitrogen to just about nothing for flowering. They only needed a good amount of nitrogen through their stretch from there a lot of p and k.

Sorry, but the "trichome coloration theory" does not apply to all plants. For example, the blue widow I am working with is best cut when about 10% of the pistols have turned brown. There are no amber trichomes and letting the plant age does NOT improve the effect in this case. So don't get too hung up on some of the "scientific" theories bouncing around out there. The only way to be absolutely sure of best harvest age is to grow several clone crops and vary the cut time.

Looking at your photos, and considering the flower time, my subjective opinion is that those plants are as finished as they are going to get.
