I don't grow hydro so can't advise you there. As far as height, best thing to do would be to FIM them NOW that will cause side branch growth and it'll make the plants short and bushy - after the new tops heal and start growing and the plant starts growing vertically again THEN put it into 12/12. You'll have to make a best guess on height but FIMing or topping would definitely help there and get you more yield for the 3 plants (more branches = more bud sites). If you're not familiar with scrogging, you might want to look into that. Only reason not to do that is for a strain that does not respond well to topping - can't tell you whether that's yours or not but most strains respond well. Your plants don't look like single cola plants to me so far so guessing they are fine for FIMing/topping - there is a good sticky article on FIMing in the advanced grow topics area. it is not hard.
