I've Smoked Weed for over 4 Decades; this is my First Attempt at Growing Anything.

Are you going to stick with General Organics for your second round? I'm doing my own supersoil mix and only adding nutrients as required.. just tap water (for Ca and Mg)
I'm interested in learning about other nutrient possibilities down the road but I think the GO package is working fine. 1 error I made was to bring my water from 7.0-7.2 down to 6.4-6.5 and THEN added nutes! Which, I'm sure resulted in low PH. What I'm doing now, is alternating feeding and straight watering on my new grows. And I'm building up 25 to 37 to 50 %, when I do feed them, and stop at 50%. I'm hoping to avoid nute burn this time and go with a "less is more" routine. I am focused more on training for my next phase of learning. I also wonder what the Summer will bring with respect to pests and environmental challenges.

Yeah I hear you.. it's going to be cold this weekend up here in the Great White North.. but then it looks like above 0 from here on out... Farmer's almanac says that May 5th is last frost.

The outdoor garden is going in next week. No Mary-Jane but I'm continuing with the basement operation.

I'm thinking that I may have burnt the snot out of my plants too but not certain as I never took my ppm's... That's why I'm opting for the less is more like yourself and just sticking with a pre-mixed soil that hopefully I didn't make too hot! :D

Peace

So, I've got 6 plants curing and 3 Tangerine Dreams drying. I have, of course, been sampling my products when dry, before curing. Therefore, I cannot report yet on the flavors but I can attest that each of the 4 strains, (Chocolope, LSD, Wappa & Blue Widow) all have very strong highs! In the case of the Chocolope and Blue Widow, I think I may try to make mothers of these two strains. Since I messed up the cloning attempt, I have to go from seed again. So the highs are the good news! The bad news is the yields. My average weight from the 1st 6 plants is 1 &1/4 oz rather than the 2 oz I originally hoped for. I guess I should be satisfied with growing over 1/2 a pound of strong weed on my first try, especially given my early fuckups and my late nute lockout. I had no insect problems and my chief challenge was heating and humidifying my basement grow space.

I sure learned a lot and look forward to my next hands on lessons here in my freshman year at Weed College. I am extremely grateful for all the encouragement and help I got from people on this site. I can't imagine having the same results without you.

I have 4 robust plants, a little over a month into vegging, and 6 more a few weeks behind them, all new strains, as I try to decide what I want for future staples. I have FIMmed the 4, will soon do the same with the 6, will be making clones, NOT overfeeding, watching my pH, and exploring training methods so I can achieve my 2 oz per plant goal. And, I imagine new challenges with insects and keeping the humidity and heat DOWN!

Thanks again.
