So, it's legal to grow four plants in Canada now, figured I'd have a go!

This beauty is four weeks old today. Vegging in coco under a couple 23w CFL's. Gonna have an HPS for flower. Nothing too complicated, should've used more perlite and clay pebbles, but the plant looks good I think!

5 weeks tomorrow from seed tomorrow! Plant is healthy... I'm not feeding it too much, it's getting as much nitrogen as it can handle right now... I enriched the coco with coffee grounds, eggshells and wood char (about 1cm squares). When I give her any nutes in water, she's yellowing right now, so pretty much straight water, or a thin solution with high nitro and chased with fresh water till drain. That seems to be perfect for her at this stage ;)

Any questions, comments, please feel free to post whatever.

It kinda looks like it's starting to flower on the top main terminal. Is it an Auto? Or did you flip. Throwing alot of pistils ontop it looks like. Looks good either way though.

Edit: congrats for your country being better than mine to the south of you.

Yah it certainly does seem to be flowering, it must be auto because it's under 20 hours/day light...

Time to hit the lights I'd say eh?! I'm looking at getting some Samsung LM561C LED's in the 3000k range, maybe 300 or so. Probably get a UV-B strip. See how that works...

So my questions are, if she's auto-flowering, can I keep lights on 18-20 hours a day while she flowers or should I go 12/12? Never done autos before....

Thanks for the follows and comments! I'll post the entire grow journal towards the end - have been getting shots everyday, just need to organize the best.

Here she is today:

Must be auto ,they just don't bud unless your timer is skewed up ,20-4 , 18-6 for autos

18-6 for flowering schedule for auto?

I'd also like to share a few observations I've had about what the plant seems to really like.

1) These wood char squares in the substrate: I'm seeing a lot of root attachment to these little squares of char. I basically got a clean firepit, burnt some very well cured hardwood at a very high temperature till it was all small coals. This plant latches on to these like mad. Loves em.

2) Chopsticks. Cheap, long plain wood chopsticks. These things are great for getting air deep to the roots. When I repotted to the 5G bucket, I inserted chopsticks around the edges - they create channels with the ebb and flow of moisture that is really helpful in getting O2 to the roots I think. Not only that, they help wick moisture and keep the substrate more evenly moisturized down deep. I'm actually going to put my next plant into a lattice of long chopsticks with the substrate. I think I'll be great.

So here she is today. I think it's a lowrider auto feminized.

I wish I was prepared for her to flower, was expecting to have another four weeks to get my flowering box done. I'm giving her all the light I can and she's a beauty, but I doubt I'll get the full potential with the light I can give her at the moment. Still waiting for LED's and drivers I've ordered which costs about 120$ vs the $800+ turnkey kits in the local shops.

Questions: Anyone ever tried to re-veg an auto? What flowering schedule can I use with an autoflower? They can take more hours of light right?

I'm vegging another two plants for when the lights arrive, I might try to get a clone off this one too. I'm going to try a pure coco hydro and a very rich dirt mix I've been working on (very mature microbial compost).

She's starting to get frosty!
