Its FLIR season once again here in Michigan

just wanted to remind everyone to be on the look out for the eye in the sky. I just had a fly over. bird was floating low and slow with the green light on. I might be a little noid but it flew right parallel with my house. Now I'm only running 200w of cfl in a 7cu.ft. cab lined with mylar in my closet. temps inside my closet are about 8F above the temp in the rest of the room. should I move the grow or scrap it? they did a fly by during the day around 4pm, and again around 9pm. I'm a bit anxious about this, but
I don't know how upset I really should be. If they did spot it how long till the Fuzz is knocking down my door?

yea man id chill, i feel pretty comfortable giving that advise. flir is not picking up on a closet thats 78 degrees, theres no way. another thing, if they did spot your house then they would start watching not come knocking.

You could have 200 CFL bulbs and not worry about heat issues, they just don't get hot enough to trigger a reaction. I'm not positive on this point, but I believe in a helo, there are green and red lights on the sides, just like boats, to show direction of travel to other craft. I think paranoia is getting to you, I'm in Michigan too and I never even think about that. Depending on where you are, like north of the Flint area, and unless you have a huge grow going outdoors, I don't think you have any reason to be concerned. There's a difference between being cautious and being paranoid.

FLIR= Forward Looking Infra-Red. You cannot see the light from the FLIR lens as it only detects thermal energy. It is not a 'light' And ALL fixed wing (airplanes) or rotor craft (helicopters) have anti-collision lights as well as nav lights. (strobing red/green). really, don't sweat the small stuff. Just educate, medicate and meditate. Rinse, repeat.

its not flir season... your just being paranoid.. the little planes at little airports are just out flying since its nice out, i have planes that fly at 2 in the morning every day and im not worried, the only way your gonna get caught is your own mouth telling people about growing

well two pass bys in one day? it was a blackhawk the geen light was directly in front non strobe, red and white strobes on the sides it stayed put over my house for a good minute just hovering I watched as i was walking down my road so I dont think im too noid I know I am a little bit though and I know its only 200w but still. besides its ok to be a bit noid its what keeps us free. btw whats FWIW?

Does mylar really block IR? because I've heard this before. that trash bag didn't seem too but the plastic mirror he had seemed like it could I wish he would have put his hand or face behind it though.

I grow tomatoes and jalapenos and a couple tangerine trees indoors with cfls also I guess If I do get cops asking questions I can show them that. for an explanation I'm not really freaking out or anything like that just trying to be prepared ahead of time. I dont do jail. i'll kill lots of cops before I do jail. I have 6 acres of woods to bury them on If worst comes to worst lol. there are three cop stations in my town and a population of about 10,000 we have state, city, and county all within 2 miles of my house. good thing I know my IED's

Now, I dont know if your actually being watched or not, and neither do you. But there's one thing I do know... You can grow those plants again, brother. Hell, I'll send you more seed, if that's an issue. Penitentiary aint' no fun.

The funny part is, I'm not kidding. Some dude actually made these.

Don't sweat FLIR. It cannot see through walls. The only people who need to be concerned about FLIR are people with huge commercial operations, people venting their exhaust to the outside, people growing in attics, and people whose houses have shitty insulation. Even then you need a good amount of light to pump out enough heat to light you up on FLIR. There is no such thing as FLIR season either. Typically, the colder it is outside the easier it is to see if a house is putting off excessive heat. FLIR also doesn't work well during the daytime. The heat from the sun can confuse FLIR to the point of making it useless. Don't worry about Infrared blockers, especially for a small CFL grow. You have absolutely nothing to worry about as far as FLIR is concerned. Happy growing.

I feel like they've seen it. I usually have a good sense of things like this. but l st night I smoked some crazy shit so I dunno I dont feel like there on there way to my house however, Im on look out keeping sharp man. I have plenty of seed.
