i watered each of them a little yesterday giving the largest one more water. I used floragrow and florabloom so that they would get more nitrogen.

Since I used the flora grow the root growth has tripled and everything is looking a little greener. I put foil over the top of one of my pots it is covering about 4 inches of the stem will that hurt the plant? I did it to reflect light back up.

watered my soil plants using the same formula that i used in my bubbler. I took some pictures of my sour cream today. They are starting to get a little frosty, but I'm getting random brown spots and tip curling, what would that be?DSC00450b.jpgDSC00447.JPG

I need to water my plants today but i have winged root aphids(i thought they were gnats) well i need to get some neem oil to kill them.

I've regrouped and sprayed all the aphids with the neem oil. They left there corpses in my bud so i took compressed air and gently blew out all the buds to clean them but also get eggs and larva. I check it often to keep their numbers down, but i looks like my plan it working. I also watered my soil plants, tested ph, and added some ph balanced water.

It was awesome. I got to see a real grow house. The garage had been converted to an apartment and they had a huge veg room and a huge flower room. it was legit they had all the timers and controls in a single panel in the wall and individual plugs for the hanging lights. It was awesome to see such a legit grow.

My plants seem to like the new additives. I couldnt give them a full watering with all the new stuff so i gave little drinks to the lighter pots.

So I decided to take another whack at making a grow box. I tried to prepare myself for all of the different factors that go into a closet grow the first time, but I just didn't really understand until I started my grow. So i decided to drop more cash and build a better system. I'm getting a 6 tube T5 light for vegging to cut down on power, and Im using my 400w HPS for flowering.

So I drew up the designs for my box and went to home depot to get some wood. I needed 5 pieces of 4x8 wood and the store to cut the pieces, so I got them cut and was checking out and the check out girl only charged me for one piece of wood! I thought it was a great sign for the start of this upgrade. I'm also gonna switch to DWC buckets(I like the control).

Hey Xstation, I have a question about the bugs you found. What causes them to show up??, is it the soil, or overall conditions?? How do they come to be in an enclosed area is what I'm wondering. I could understand more for outside growers. I've seen people run into issues before but never spoke up and asked.

From what I've learned, they show up mostly in soil. When water sits around roots and other organic material without proper drainage and such, fungus begins to grow and these fungus gnats are born in it. Soil is a huge bug magnet, and these bugs were driving me insane so I'm switching to hydro.
