It's a Sad Mouldy Day

Hi RIU,

I have a Beautiful Fat Banana plant growing, which yesterday moved in to Week 7 of Flowering. She's being grown in an 11l Pot in Soil under a 250w to 400w Hps Lamp dependant on Temps, in a 75 x75 Budbox Tent.

I have no extraction system currently running due to noise issues and have always been aware of my Humidity problems, but have been very lucky the last couple of years not to have suffered with my plants.

This Morning however I went to water my Lady and during my inspection of her I was devastated to find mould growing in one of the main colas. I could have cried, I've not had a problem with mould in years, but there has been a lot of rain recently so extra humid here.

My question is i don't want the mould spores to spread to my other plants so do I chop the whole plant down now or should I just chop away the affected areas and let her continue to finish flowering? Either way I will be having a complete clean out of the tent and will be buying a small bathroom extraction fan to help with my current Humidity issues.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is no u in mold. Thats some textbook bud rot youve got there. Remove that kola and toss it. If you get your air flow figured out, you might be able to salvage the rest of her.

Lol, Thanks Joe and there's def a U in mould when you live in the UK. Appreciate your reply, I'll prob do as you've suggested. Haven't seen bud rot in years, horrible shit. Thankfully we'll be moving somewhere larger next year so I can get all my Extraction Kit back out, but I'll have to try to sort something else out in the meanwhile. Cheers Mate

Are you smelling cat piss I would say it bud rot and not mould
Yeah, its definitely bud rot, I dont know why I always call it mould. Bloody horrible stuff anyway. I've checked through the plant and it's affected other parts unfortunately, mainly the more dense parts of the colas. I'd like to push her for another couple weeks, but its prob safer to just take her down now. Im scrubbing my tent down at the moment and not having her in there has already helped to increase airflow to the other 3 ladies. I've ordered a couple of small extraction fans as well so that should help too.
