Hello,
these are afgan, 2 weeks into 12/12.
I can see the flowering in the plants in the foreground, but I have 2 in the rear that have not shown much of any thing yet, The close up is of one of the plants I suspect is male,
what do u think?
Of course I want to keep all the fems I can but I am using 1 400w hps & have 8 plants under it, so if there is a man in the house he needs to go so those young buds can get more of the light,
thanks for any input.

looks like a hermie
An hermaphrodite, or hermie, is a Marijuana plant of one sex that develops the sexual organs of the other sex. Most commonly, a flowering female Marijuana plant will develop staminate flowers, though the reverse is also true. Primarily male hermaphrodites are not as well recognized only because few growers let their males reach a point of flowering where the pistillate would be expressed.
Hermaphrodites are generally viewed with disfavor. First, they will release pollen and ruin a sinsemelia crop, pollinating themselves and all of the other females in the room. Second, the resulting seeds are worthless, because hermaphrodite parents tend to pass on the tendency to their offspring. peace out bro

believe me that is not a hermie and its not a male it is a girl, definitely a girl no doubt about itkiss-ass
no its a girl not a hermi hermis look way different you rite its a girl nice job!

plants can turn hermie well after starting to bud so you cant say its not a hermie at this early stage mine was budding nicely for about 1 month before it showed hermie/pollen sacks.
this was the first hermie i ever had and it was down to seed genetics as it was one of 3 plants and after i discovered it and removed it the other 2 plants turned out to be 100% female sinsemilla.

did something happen dureing the veg. or flowering stage to make the plant go through any type of stress for it just to hermi like that? :peace:

prolly light leak

no light leaks and no vegging faults i have grown dozens of plants and never had a hermie or a problem.
hermies are mostly down to seed genetics and not stress and as i said the other plants were fine.
so there was no stress and definatelly no light leaks.
i have been growing too long to make any kind of silly mistakes.

Natural Hermaphrodites
Some hermaphrodites seem to be genetically determined (protogenous). That is, they naturally form flowers of both sexes given normal growing conditions. Possibly genes carried on the autosomes (the chromosomes other than the sex chromosomes) modify the normal sexual expression. Monoecious varieties have been developed by hemp breeders in order to ensure uniform harvests.
It is also possible that these particular are polyploid, which means they have more than the usual two sets of chromosomes. This kind of hermaphrodite may have XXY (triploid), or XXYY or XXXY (tetraploid) sex chromosomes. However, no naturally occurring polyploids have ever been verified (by observation of the chromosomes) in any population of Cannabis. Polyploids have been induced in Cannabis by using mutagens, such as the alkaloid colchicine.
Whatever then genetic explanation may be, one or more of these natural hermaphrodites may randomly appear in any garden. They are sometimes faster-maturing, have larger leaves, and are larger in overall size than their unisexual siblings. They usually form flowers of both sexes uniformly in time and distribution, and in some unusual patterns. For example, from Mexican seed, we have seen a plant on which separate flowering cluster consisted of both female and male flowers: and upper section of female flowers had upraised stigmas, and a lower section of male flowers dangled beneath the female flowers. In other plants from Mexican seed, the growing tips throughout the plant have female flowers; male flowers sprout from the leaf axils along the main stem and branches. Plants from "Thai" seed sometimes form male and female flowers on separate branches. Branches with female flowers tend to predominate, but branches having mostly male flowers are located throughout the plant.
