It Hangs Too Low

So the straps that came with my Phlizon grow light hang way too low even if I don't use the conveyor that raises and lowers it. Is there a replacement that doesn't hang so damn low that you guys know of?

I double wrapped mine for the max light height. It gets kinda tight but it can be done. Just have to move the plants to the light if needed.

I have a bunch of ratchet straps but it hangs halfway down the tent even with just the clip and hangers. I'm wondering how I can get it closer to the top of the tent. Every set of hangers I find online look like the same thing as what I have.

That's a good idea why didn't I think of that. Let me see if it works.

ditch the cables and ratchet straps.

position your crossbars directly above the 4 corners of the lights. use zip ties to attach each corner independently. you could use extra zip ties to give yourself more adjustment or just one set and have it an inch off the ceiling. just account for airflow and make sure it's not heating up the top of your tent fabric. I did this with an HLG65 in a 2x2x3 for a long time.

Ok I double wrapped the hangers but I will go to the hardware store and get some industrial strength zip ties later. Thanks for the help I tend to panic at the first sign of issues nowadays lol.

I just got a little LED light with those wire leaders on them that would cause the same problem in my 5' high tent so took them off and attached directly to the clips on top of the light so now I can go up to a couple inches from the ceiling in there if need be.

This is it downstairs with those leaders attached hanging from the chains I use for everything that needs to hang from somewhere.



I could see that wasn't going to work in the tent so took the leaders off and hooked short pieces of chain across the hooks on the light. Those short pieces can be easily shortened even more so they will lie almost flat against the light to get it up as high as possible. Then just chain to hang it up. Height adjustment is dead easy with the S hooks and I've been doing it like this for 20 years. Stupid ratchets get loose and drop lights into the canopy, cost more and aren't near as easy to adjust as a hook IMO.

You can cut the chain so it's last link where you made the cut forms a hook like where it attached to the cross-chain on the light. Saves a couple of S hooks and can easily support 10lbs each without bending.

I took the hooks off the original hanger that came with the light and attached them to the zip ties. My light is perfect height and now my plant can grow to its full potential. Thanks for the advice guys. This forum has such a great community.
