IS YOUR TENT SITTING ON THE COLD FLOOR/GROUND?

What size air pump are you using Demon? Mine stays between 65-70, depends on the room temp mostly. I try to keep it under 70 the best I can though. Anyways, I was gonna upgrade from my 45LPM air pump to a 75LPM air pump. Would this be a waste of money and be too much for my plants to use? (I know it's very off topic, my apologies)
 
I grow in soil. my water res is my 45 gallon water holding tank so I don't have to make 10 trips to my wash sink to get water on the other side of my grow shop. I put a bubbler in there to help dissipate the chlorine/chloride, and aerate the h2o 24/7 so the water doesn't get stagnant in-between waterings. my flower room takes 15 gallons of h2o per watering/feeding, my veg room takes 12 gallons, my clone room about 3 gallons.
 
The floor is cold, it good for DWC but for soil or soilless I would always lift the pots if the floor is cold.
A transportation wooden platform like the ones used for pallet moving with a forklift fits nicely in a 1.2x1.2m tent.

I also like to use grow trays to control my runoff so usually I don't even think about putting my plants on the floor...

I believe in getting them up off the ground in a basement or garage concrete floor. You can easily build a small platform for it, like a 2x4 frame with a sheet of plywood, or even an old skid with a slab of insulation on top. The platform keeps a layer of warmer air and will help maintain the temps on top of it more to ambient temperature of the room. I finished my outdoor in the garage this fall, just threw a bunch of 1x6 boards on the floor and a couple of pieces of plywood to set the pots on.

that platform is a good idea. rather than build it, shipping pallets are easy to find, then put a layer of the reflective foam insulation on top of the pallet
 
I like it that the pallets can allow some ventilation benefits, I wouldn't cover them with a film.
In very cold places that might be necessary but not in Israel.

My tent sits on the bare floor. We use to have carpet but it got old and smelly so ripped it out.
Now there is what I believe to be asbestos tiles and that is what my tent sits on. Also my tent bottom liner when I slide a pot and saucer one day it ripped a small hole in the tent liner. I can't find a replacement liner, and I'm not about to buy a brand new tent before I get the full use out of this one. I could patch the hole, but meh, my plants don't flood the tent too often unless I make a mistake, I just use a saucer for every pot. But yeah, I was also thinking if i go with the insulation foam board that stuff is also built with a reflective layer so that might help reflect some light upward too is its inside the tent.

Scary shit right there, and then you smoke your herb brother?? I lost my Grandfather, grandmother, aunt and uncle all from mesothelioma...
It affects your lungs... just be careful man, i'd move my tent anywhere else!
 
Its not that bad, not like the roots come in contact with the tiles. There's a couple layers of tent material, saucers, fabric from the smart pot.
 
I was meaning your own safety, but that's good. :bigjoint: I would try to get rid of it after your grow, just because I have no idea how much asbestos it takes to be deadly or dangerous...but I'm glad your grow is going well Twist, best of luck and happy growing! :weed:
 
I'm actually not too sure how safe those tiles are either, but they are throughout the whole house. Back family room, kitchen, my room. Under the carpet in the living/front room, hallway, and two other rooms. The bathroom was redone so there is ceramic tiles in there.
 
have you thought of putting your pots up on those wheeled castor trays? keeps them a few inches off the floor and makes it easy to move the plants around for any trimming or whatever you want to do.
 
That probably would have saved my tent liner a while back. I slide a smart pot on the tent liner and it ripped a hole.
After that I had to start using saucers for every pot/planter. Before ripping a hole in the liner it seemed to hold runoff water.
If I had those castor trays that hole might not have happened, and I also hate stretching my watering can way to the back of the tent,
all while working my way through the other plants/branches. Would be nice to roll the front plants out the way and the back ones forward.
