Is UV worth extra $?

Looking into a 480W.

I'm getting 3500k either way but, the UV alone is pretty much costing $30, worth it?

I would rather have separate supplemental UV T5’s (Agromax) or strips rather than on the 480w board itself.

Supplemental UV can increase THC & terpenes up to 30% if used correctly

What is the correct way to use it? Should I forget UV for now? Will a small amount really hurt the plants that much?

The uv the board provides will help but not in the 30% range as previously mentioned. Maybe see around 5% difference so not even a half of a % of thc would be my fair guess

Use a stronger amount of supplemental UV. The agromax pure UV T5 bulbs are cheap and are very strong. Run for 10-20 mins 3-5x during mid light cycle with them 24-48” above canopy.
