Vlad and his oligarch buddies have hundreds of billions of dollars stashed in banks and tax havens in the west, it would all disappear overnight. Ukraine is a hostage, if Vlad wanted it he would have taken it while his puppet Trump was POTUS. Joe is doing shit to Vlad we don't know anything about and it's got a real hair up Vlad's ass, he's had to deploy troops to his client states of Belorussia and Kazakhstan to quell domestic uprisings recently. Russia has an economy smaller than Italy's, the average Russian makes less the $400/mth and he's up against a 30 country alliance most of whom have bigger economies than Russia. Vlad would have to have big balls and a very small brain to invade, wars often have unintended consequences. Ya never know, Vlad has a dream of resurrecting the USSR and might sleep walk into disaster.
Maybe Joe wants Vlad's ass for fucking over America and is putting so much economic heat on it's driving Vlad to do something stupid, something Joe would like him to do. A lot of very smart people in the intelligence community cried bitter tears of rage as they watch Trump betray America, they might want pay back and are smart enough to know how to do it.

Its been the Biden administration that is pushing the narrative that Russian invasion is "imminent" though. I'm kinda leaning toward what you said, how could he be dumb enough? But the administration keeps telling us its definitely happening.... If i was a betting man (which i am) id say IF russia invades the Ukrainian army largely lays down its weapons. I don't mean anything negative by that, it would be the intelligent thing to do.

I believe I read once that each American nuclear boomer submarine was capable of destroying every population center of over 100,000 in Russia with missiles carrying MIREVs and nukes. There are several of these subs at sea at any given time, plus the Brits and France have them too, as well as other nukes. This is only one component of America's triad nuclear defense system that also includes land based ICBMs and other missiles, as well, as a strategic bomber force.
So if Vlad wants to commit suicide, he would use nukes, even against the Ukraine. One thing is for sure, Vlad is desperate about something, to be rolling the dice like this and fucking up diplomatically. Finland and Sweden are thinking of joining NATO now FFS and will if Russia invades, it will strengthen NATO and crush the Russian economy. He and his oligarch buddies will loose vast fortunes, worth perhaps trillions, stashed in the west over decades of malfeasance.
There are things here we are not seeing, besides the fact if Ukraine goes, so does the Black sea and it surrounds Belorussia with western countries on three sides. Most importantly, if Ukraine and Belorussia prosper like west Germany did in the cold war, by going with the west, it makes Vlad look like shit at home. The average Russian makes about 400/mth and he is due to make a lot less soon. Having fellow Slavic neighbors prospering and making thousands of Euros a month on average would be intolerable. It's the same problem the Russians had in the cold war, they had to hide and distract their domestic, ideological and economic failures from their population. In today's world this is no longer possible and they can't control the flow of information, or even people these days. Invasion won't work either and will have lot's of unintended consequences, the average Russian will be lucky to be working, much less make $100/mth.

It is something that makes sense that a right wing propaganda troll would want to nudge people into believing though. So that they can later pretend like somehow Biden was warmongering to deflect from the actual fact that Putin has put over a hundred thousand troops along Ukraine's border after attacking them for years now. That way all those people they brainwashed into their big lies nod along and convince themselves of the alt reality that was spammed.
Provided a repeated stimulus for long enough and it is amazing what the human brain can convince itself of.

There are far more egregious grammatical errors in our conversations that get overlooked every day. A lie is a fucking intentional act. What I did was use a word incorrectly that really changes the meaning of the sentence by very fucking little.
