is transplanting a must?

hello all, noob question here any help would be much appreciated. Is transplanting a must? Is it possible to plant my germinated seeds in a container that is big enough to hold them til harvest? Any downsides in doing this? If so what? Also what would be the best way to transplant? again any help would be appreciated feel free to treat me noobish! Thanks again.

Planting the seedlings in the pot large enough for the entire grow is the way to go as you prevent transplant sock which will slow growth deffiantly the way to go if you have the space. Good Luck

The only downside is that you can't squeeze as many seedlings and/or clones in a compact space. Not soo much an issue outdoors.
