I think you could absolutely define it that way. But it sounds as if this is the beginning of spiritual use. I think it has to do more with what people define as what qualifies as "spiritual" than what qualifies as "spiritual use" of an entheogen. If you were to explore it deeper, and you felt that marijuana gave you some intimate connection either to something beyond yourself, or within yourself, then that qualifies as spiritual use.
I personally find that when smoking, I have a "fervor" or sorts for gathering up as much spiritual wisdom as I can, and questioning it. I'm purusing advanced degrees in Religious Studies and Cultural Anthropology, so this is a constant interest. But I seem more "compelled" to explore this part of MYSELF when stoned. I think this qualifies as spiritual use. And if your experience is comparable to mine, I think you can rightfully call it what it is. And I urge you, personally, to explore it a bit more deeply.
Maybe even throw an MAOI in there, like Peganum Harmala.
