Is this rot or spider mites?

I have 6 outdoor plants and I'm planning to harvest this week.

I'm worried Plant #2 is rotting and needs to be thrown away. What do you all think?

Plant 1: I noticed one dead bud yesterday This is a large 5.5' tall blue dream sativa (I have 2 of these). I did not find any other dead buds on the blue dreams. I cut out the dead bud. Maybe this plant had/has a minor spider mite problem? I am treating with "Lost Coast Plant Therapy" and plan to harvest it in 2-3 days.

Plant 2: This plant had white powder mold when it was a clone so I was always worried about it. It's a DB7 Sativa. I used Lost Coast Plant Therapy early on and the mold problem hasn't come back. But I just noticed how many dead leaves there are throughout the plant. I pulled one off and it looks bad inside like rot.

Do you think Plant #2 is rotted and trash? Do you think I should trash it or just pick off the parts that look okay? This is my smallest plant so if I have to throw it out that's fine. I just don't want to smoke bad buds as I smoke for medical reasons.

Thanks in advance :)

If you’d cut open the dead bud from plant one, it would probably look like Plant 2a, not totally certain of that, but 2a is 100% bud rot, and you can be pretty sure all the other brown spots are the same.

It’s up to you whether there’s any salvageable colas, I would probably still try harvesting some of it that still looks healthy and pulling it apart to really check the inside closely.

Thank you. Sounds like plant 2 is trash or 90% trash- luckily it's my smallest plant anyways.

I looked closely at plant 1 and there are no signs of rot anywhere else luckily. Rest of plant looks super healthy and green. For some reason it was only that one brown bud on the top of the plant. I also found two caterpillars on the plant! Both about 1/2" long.

All 6 of my plants look ready to harvest but I'm thinking I will spray 2-3 more times with Lost Coast Plant Therapy and harvest in 2-3 days... Hoping that will help to kill any spiders or other bugs still in there

Let me know if you have any advise.

I’m a total noob and only doing my first grow right now, but I also have pulled some rot off of my one plant today.

Over my last few months reading thru these and other forums I’ve convinced myself that spraying anything on the plants at this point invites rot. Botrytis spores should be assumed to be everywhere, including all over your plant, just waiting for either a sustained period of high humidity and cool temps, or some caterpillar shit, to germinate and start rotting wherever it sprouts.

Now that your plants are covered with dense nugs they’re gonna hold a lot more moisture from any spray. I don’t know if a spray of plant therapy on the good plants provides more risk or protection. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in on that.

That totally makes sense to me too. But I don't think that's the problem I'm having. I only sprayed plant #1 when it was a a baby clone for white powder spots. I think that clone was just predisposed to being problematic. It was the most challenging and is the smallest plant. It was also heavily wilted early-on.

I'm more confused and concerned about the single dead bud on Plant #1. I'm thinking that is more what you said- something germinated on that spot and it started to rot. I looked closely and don't see any other signs of rot so hopefully that one is good. I'll def update after I harvest this week
