Is this plant doomed to fail

this a pure power plant strain under a 315 CMH. It will not quit stretching. I went to 12/12 3 weeks ago and it's now 52". You think it will ever amount to anything? Suggestions. Doesn't seem like buds are growing much.

Did you defoliate or something? I am assuming you didn’t top early on? It’s super leggy.

I didn't top. I will next time. Ive never grown sativa before. I've never had a plant get this leggy. I hope it does something, but I don't know. I've never used CMH before either. I don't know what super cropping means. I did not defoliate.

Supercropping is when you gently squeeze the stem between your fingers, rolling it back and forth until you break the membrane and cause the stem to fall over at a 90 degree.

It helps keep canopys flat and I think it also does something good for growth in general, but I'm not smart enough to tell you what exactly lol

Is a great place for all things growing weed

YouTube also a great source, you can watch vids if visualiziation helps you like it does me.
Well I just did what I read about super cropping. I pinched, and fooled the stem in my fingers up towards the top. We'll see how it goes. It crushed quite a lot.

Yes in turn it will make your other branches beefier

Thanks for the feedback. If every bud site on this plant was to fill in it would yield fair. Maybe it is more of an 11 to 14 week strain despite what the seed seller states. They say 8 to 9. I will definitely employ some of the methods used here next time. Got up this morning and it's up to 54 1/2" today.

Tack 2-3 weeks on to whatever the seller states. The preflowering stretch is not included in actual flowering weeks and is extra.

I keep thinking that the stretch has got to be over after 3 weeks 12/12, but just keeps growing and growing and growing. Hopefully this super cropping will be what it needs. Soon as lights come on I'm going for it. I crushed the stem last night but didn't bend it over. Going to tonight. And I verified I have no light leaks.

Doubt you'll need to do more, even gently bruising the membrane with moderate pressure, rolling it between your fingers, is sufficient to divert the floral hormones & achieve the bushier, squater plant you're after.

Brilliant. Thanks for the advice. I'll measure it when lights come on and see if it has slowed down any. May bruise it again if not.

Supercropping does amazing things, mostly because you'll get a proper canopy... Gently pinch, bend over 90 degress or so, and be sure to gently secure it with ties or it will bend right back up... You should see the end turn up towards the light by the next day.

I've grown tall plants like that before, but you can see in the pic, there is not nearly enough light down at the bottom. you'll only get one good cola out of all that unless you top that off, get more light, or supercrop it I think... Will be worth it and then you can get those lights closer.

Assuming this is sativa heavy, you've still got at least seven eight weeks to go, plenty of time to super crop it...
