Is this one of them hermit crab plants?

There are better options than Mars. Also you said you're doing a micro grow I thought. How big of a space do you have to work with?
I figured he was budget oriented based on light choice as of now. I run Growers Choice ROI-e720 fixtures but they're $800 each so obviously not going to recommend that.

HAHA love the mustache man!

That is some pretty nice plants there hombre. I've got a slight height problem though. We're growing in a space that right now allows 2ft maximum plants with the lights 18" in flower (micro grow ftw). How many would we need for about 10 plants?

Yeah forgot to mention haha. We have unlimited horizontal space. 2ft max plants size with 18inch to spare from lights
haha its a filter and thats a buddy of mine. 2 foot height you would need 3 panels for 10 plants, 4 per light roughly is what you can fit in smaller pots with smaller plants. The nuggetry is going to be unreal with that much canopy density.

Do you want to do any DIY stuff? It's not too complicated. Because strips or HLG QB132's or 120's would work great.
Hell yeah man we DIY'ed our current setup. We're pretty good with that stuff. Was tossing around the idea of getting some LED strips. Would def want to learn more about the how-to

These longer model lights (TSL) would likely be better for your application. In the case of using the longer fixture vs the TSW (Wide) you would likely only need 2 fixtures to cover 10 smaller plants as you've described.
Hmm.. definitely seems like a viable option. We currently have a bunch of white widow seeds that we're starting to plan for. Could be a good time to introduce some improved lighting. Whether it be DIY or that 39'' mars you linked

There are tons of threads here. I was going to do DIY as I'm handy myself but I prefer having a warranty as I have patients to provide for and I can't risk my rinky dink equipment failing and having to self-repair or build a new unit or who knows...

My idea was some of these and a driver or 2 depending on how many you wanna run.
O
Too bad the 132's are sold out. But they'll have more soon I'm sure. The 120's would work too.

Too bad you missed the 20% off sale, but you can still get 10% with code RIU10.

Keep in mind with LED the light is less of a "rolling" light and more of a "beam" if that makes sense.. So you want to plan your fixtures to be almost the asme measurement as the actual canopy. You can space them out and raise them up higher but you will usually lose performance. I know the Growers Choice ROI-E720 fixtures call for 6 inch or ~16 cm distance from the top of the plants.. That seems insane but it literally works and no burn or issues.

you think we could try going a bit closer than 18in with our current lights? Makes sense about the beam though, we're thinking of redoing the setup to improve the footprint.

The DIY seems expensive compared to buy 2 of those Mars lights you linked. Am I missing something here?

DIY usually can provide more output as far as light but also sometimes consume more power. I've looked into it and if you value your time, time = money, then you probably will want to just buy ready to go fixtures. So yeah, you are right it can be expensive at first especially if you're someone that doesn't have lots of free time.

What Cal Mag product would you recommend?
Botonicare is what I use. 500ml bottle should last a while.
Others have used a calcium powdered supplement, and epsom salts for mag. to separate the dosing when deficiencies arise.
You can look it up or someone can chime in on what they use.

I was looking at that brand actually lol Liquid is cool - I heard people having problems with powder. Any idea what kind of dosage would be appropriate? Besides some Root Grow, Veg Nutes, and Lotus Bloom I dont have any experience with nutrients.

I usually don't use it until my plant tells me it needs it. When the leaves start turning a light green, but not yellow color.. OR when you see little brown spots on the old fan leaves. If they go from green to yellow,... she needs nitrogen.

Gotcha, makes sense. Do you just mix as per the instructions?

All else, anyone have any opinions on the possible trich/pw pics above?
