Is this ok?

my plant is around 5 weeks old from seed. I am using fox farm ocean Forrest soil as my potting soil and using General Organics go box for my nutrients. I have little experience in growing plants but I have been growing fungi for many of years so I’m not a compete noob to growing things. I gave my plant her first round of the General Organics nutes at around 60% of the light feeding the bottle recommends. After about 3 or 4 days I watered her with just water no nutrients. I started noticing a couple leaves look like the top layer of the leave has been removed or slightly yellow, I was wondering if this is a nutrient burn? Or do I need to worry about this? Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Nutrient burn will typically occur at the leaf tips / margins. My concern would lean more towards pests. Have you checked and double checked for pests? Otherwise, the plant doesn't look that bad.

Yea, I have been checking for pests, I moved the light up a little higher to just Incase. I figured it had some thing to do with the nutes I added because it happenend a couple days after I gave her the first dose. She’s my only plant right now and I mixed the nutes with a 1/4 gallon of water and tried to break down the nutes chart to match what it should have been if it equaled out to a gallon, i May have added a lil too much of one or two of the nutes making the water a lil to concentrated. At least that’s my best guess right now. It’s only on a couple of the leaves. Today she’s supposed to be ready for another feeding I will most likely cut the feeding chart down further and see if any changes happen.

I also havnt been checking my ph, use distilled water and the general Organics line says I don’t have to mess with ph levels. This could be a rookie mistake on my part as well.

your soil has nutrients in it already. be careful how much more you give. Transplanting into a bigger pot with more soil might be a better solution than adding the organic line. I have no idea now what that discoloration is, but it's possible to be a genetic flaw, bugs, or a mold or other disease. plant is young so it's kind of unlikely to be mold or bugs. I wouldn't worry about it much right now. keep us posted.

I acualtlly had just transplanted it in to the pot that it’s currently in a few days before I gave the nutes to it, I had considered the possibilities of burning it then as well but wasn’t sure. I’ll drfinitly keep y’all posted and I appreciate all the help!

just remember is much easier and better to give too little than too much. when the lower leaves yellow, then it's probably time for a small dose.

North is correct, it's definitely just some rough handling. Maybe from transplanting.
From everything I've heard, with organics it's not necessary to check your PH.
But I'd just make sure to double check that the nutes have every single thing your plant needs because tap water has a lot of good things in it that distilled doesnt

Just wanted to post a little update. It seems (to me at least) that I did give my girl a little bit of nute burn. I have cut back the nutes drastically by around 1 dose of nutes at around 1/4 of bottle recommendation in between every 3 waterings. Since I’ve done like this I haven’t seen any spots show up on the new growth. I have noticed I have to water about every 2 days now, is this normal since it’s getting bigger or do I need to transplant her again? I did a trans plant just a couple days before I made this original post. Also will I have to wait until I flower to find out if it is truley female? It’s around 6-7 weeks old and I am still unable to determine the sex of the plant, no pods and no hairs at this current time.

I would top her a few times so she bushes out. She is rather scrawny for 6-7 weeks. Looks healthy and will handle the topping nicely. You will be amazed what a few toppings will do.

I'd transplant to a much larger container, one that will last the entire grow like a large tote. It will take a lot of soil but that's just how soil grows are. Lighting from the side can help a plant bush outwards. Let the soil dry out quite a bit to shrink it and make removing the soil from the pot much easier. Soil needs a wet/dry cycle so you don't necessarily have to water every two days. What makes you feel like you have to? Let the soil dry between waterings to put oxygen to the root zone. You might be keeping that soil too wet. A lot of FFOF soil will keep it fed for a while and you shouldn't have to worry much.

Yeah I’ve noticed i haven’t really needed to add nutes, will I need to add them during the flowering stage or will this soil carry on through that too?

I’ve been watering about every two days because the soil is pretty dry. I know that it needs some dry time but by the end of the 2nd day the soil (at least the top layers I can feel) become extremely dry. When I first transplanted it to this pot it would take 3-4 days before the dirt would become this dry, recently it’s become 2 days so that’s why I’ve increased the waterings. When I water the plant I water it until the bottom catch pan has a tiny bit of water in it. I’ll water it and come back a few minutes later to make sure the water thoughrly went through the soil and that the catch pan has caught some water.

It could be your plant is taking up more as it grows. When you go with a bigger pot, you'll have to use more water (naturally). Just make sure the soil is thoroughly wet all over when you water, then let it dry.
I've been trying to tell people here that FFOF is adequate soil provided you use enough of it in a large enough container. While I don't know for sure it will last an entire grow period, I think you should give that a try. Use a lot of soil in a large container and conduct your own experiment. See how long that soil seems to hold out before the leaves start to discolor. This should be interesting.

I’ve never used it but I have read numerous stories and reviews on it. Seems the soil is good until flowering then most guys give a light feeding to keep some N going on but begin a flowering nute program as per. Flush aggressively near the end and obviously stop the boosters! Might want to try some sweeteners if you’re into that sort of thing?

Thanks guys, I’ll definitly transplant it and let it run it’s course and see how it goes before I add nutes again, once it’s gets a little bigger I’m going to get some clones from it and soon after let it start flowering.

I got her transplanted, one down fall is I bought a pretty big pot, not that I’ve transplanted in to such a large container it’s too tall for my tent, I suppose it is fine to just tie her over in a couple days after she establishes some roots in the new soil? I did super cropping on my first grow years and years ago, the over all time was much longer due to the super cropping but they grew fine and had to be tied all over but I wanted to double check with y’all. Also I topped her to hopefully help slow down upward growth. The plant is starting to make it sexing parts so hopefully in next week or two I’ll know if she’s truley my girl!
