Is this nutrient burn or something else?

So a few of my friends plants have got dark brown spots on the leaves. The spots seem to spread and after a few days the leaf goes light yellow, dries out, and falls off. I'm not experienced with plants and from what I have been able to research, I think it's nutrient burn. I just wanted a confirmation that this is indeed the problem, or if it isn't then I'd like to know what it is or, more importantly, how can he fix it?

Also can someone tell me if the plants are starting to flower?

And this last plant has no big leaves left because they all died, will it still flower alright?

Hey... from my personal experience...phosphorus deficiency is dark green colour with rust spots. My ? to you is what have you been feeding and how often? Organic or synthetic fertilizer? A rule of thumb is to underfeed by 10-20% of the indicated dose since underfeeding wont kill your plants. I usually start at a 50% dose and work my way up to 90% but being careful not to over do it since the result can be the death of your plant. I also like to feed in this manner...feed at 80%, then feed water only, then feed 80% and so on. You can also feed 80%, then feed 50%, then feed straight water to flush. Flushing is very important to the overall health of the plant when using chemical nutrients. The reason you need to flush is because of the salt buildup(precipitates) that will eventually lock out micros and macros. Hope that helps...if you need any more explaining hit me up at any time. Take care

i always have a hard time figuring out nuterient deficiencies so i wont even say what i THINK it MIGHT need but, i know what wont hurt to recommend is flushing her out and maybe skipping a week of feeding instead just watering for the week. i know for sure that will help if you feel she is over fertilized. and from what i can tell they look to be budding week 2 or 3 just my guess from looking at the pics. and i dont wanna tell u how u should take care of ur stuff but u should clean out that dead shit sitting on top of your soil, its a breeding ground for pests. hope i could help. peace out man.

That's all really helpful. I was using a nutrient made for tomatoes, I know it's not ideal but I have had stuff that was grown with bud-right and it was just terrible, at the grow shop I was told that the tomato one will not leave any trace in the bud (is he wrong?) I'm sure it probably was something to do with the nutrients to start with, but I've stopped giving them nutrients and flushed all of them with water several times throughout the last two weeks and there still seems to be leaves dying. Is it possible that it's a disease?

Thanks for the help with the one that lost all of its leaves, it's the biggest and I would be shattered if it didn't bud.

One more thing I forgot to ask before, I read that if you stop watering the plant when it's time to flower then it will make the bud more potent. Is that true, and if so when should I do that? Anything else I can do at this stage to get more out of them?

This sounds like the safest approach. No matter what somebody tells you to do, or diagnosis your plant with, flushing is going to do nothing but help. Nuetral water has very little chemicals, and with help to dilute any overdose of nutrients. She might suprise you and bounce back in just a few days! Good Luck!
