Is this normal?

You definitely need more light. I have 4 23 watt CFL's and my plant is a week old and has about as many leaves as yours, your plant is stretching also. The good news is that when you add the extra lights you will notice explosive growth compared to what you've been dealing with. Best of luck.

Definitely need WAY more light. Your temps are low. Your plant is way too small for 45 days. Done correctly and depending on strain (Indica/Sativa) and when you switch to Flower (Light/Darkness 12/12), your plant could easily be 3-4 feet tall at day 45. Here are my plants at day 45:

What could I do to keep the plant smaller? I'm not trying to grow a huge plant, because all I have to grow them in is my closet since family visits over and they despise this plant. I want the plant to be only 2 feet tall maybe. The seeds came from some mids I got. I'm a newbie to this stuff so I don't know the diff between Indica and Sativa.

2 of the plants are Indicia dominant. The other plant is Sativa dominant. The Indicias came from seeds I was given from my daughter. Not sure of the exact strain, but this is the second time I've used these, and the MMJ is fantastic! The grow is also fairly easy for indoor buffs! Nice size harvest, good flavor, good smoke, and good affect.
The Sativa is a different story. I have a good friend who is a breeder and he gave me a few seeds to try. I know for a fact he was laughing under his breath when he gave me these, knowing I would experience a much different grow with this strain than the Indicia; because the strain is Sour Diesel. The plant grew fast and furious, dominating my closet space, growing to 6 feet after going 12/12 on the lights.
I had to top the plant and trim the lower branches in order to keep my other plants from being overcrowded. I almost chopped her down and figured I would try next time, but boy am I glad I didnt!!!! Her buds are the prettiest dam nuggets, and the fucking SMELL is unbelievable!!! Sour, sweet, and downright luscious!!! I cant wait till the Lady is ready for chop, chop! She will probably take an extra 4 weeks than my other plants, but Im willing to wait!
