Is this normal?

Hey ppl, im new here and a complete newb to growing .. got two pics here and im concerned about the one thats about a week old. It hasnt grown in days unlike the bigger one and its only about an inch tall which is pathetic. The tall one is a random bagweed seed and the short one is Northern Lights.. could that explain the dark red/purplish stem? Ive got them under a real crappy desk lamp with a T8 daylight bulb ( expecting better fluoros to come in next day or two).. Im just wondering why this f*cker wont grow when the other one is and theyre in the same conditions. Any help is appreciated.

purple stem could be stress . some seeds start off slower than others . how much are you watering?

Once every couple days. or when the pots theyre in feel light.

Cant determine too thoroughly since they are 2 different strains. Bag seed is unpredictable at best, I have grown nothing but since starting and even seeds from the same bag will grow all sorts of different ways. Its way too young to be worrying just yet.

The purple stem may be genetics but may also be likely from stretching at early growth causing stress on the plant. cover up about an inch of that big girls stem to prevent weaking when light is not on the plant . also do not over water dude

Its a different strain! Itll b aight!!
